Create a Bitcoin address, and post it on the website. Ask for donations.

This is the fastest and easiest solution.

I talked it over with M and it looks like it would be too much of a hassle.

Coinbase has a very simple button creating system like paypal! All you have to do is set the name and a few other parameters and you are done!

I guess the quickest way would be to convince someone from Cloadboat to make a wallet at blockchain.info (but make sure there is at least one donation then).
Would probably a hassle to deal with exchanging it to fiat for the charity then though, so probably not worth the time unless we have someone here who wants to donate a lot. (the event ends soon)

I would suggest you use API with inputs, or coinbase.  I would guess there are a lot of US sponsors/donors, so using coinbase has it's positives.
Get a coder so you guys can count, live on your website, how much was donated in bitcoin! Smiley

So, a group of dorks called the Cloudboat Armada have decided to play a gaming marathon to raise funds for the Child's Play charity.

We call it - THE INDIE GAMERS FOR GOOD MARATHON (<<< here be live stream and list of games)

They will play games suggested by donors to the charity for up to one hundred & twenty-eight hours. Where possible, they will interview the creators of the games as they are played. The more donations, the more games, the more hours, on an exponential curve.

It is actually much more ridiculous than it sounds, and the past eighty hours have been spent playing everything from a European Trucking Sim to Achron and Fez. Crypt of the NecroDancer coming up. With strobe lights. By flicking the light-switch.

Anyway, there have been enough donations for 82 hours, so far, but only 8 hours left.

I was wondering, what would be the quickest way to set the marathon up for bitcoin donations?

I have never done this before, but it seems like the idea is sort of appropriate to the idea of independent and open-source game production.
