I try to add another card ... same problem ...

I install drivers 14.11 BETA ... overclocked 1050/1500 ... now I'm getting 850kHash ... I19 ... TC 16384 ... no HW errors

If I set bigger TC, I'm getting error with number 2 * 536870912 ...

my findings:
one card R9 270 - TC 8192, LG 2, -g 1, I 13, 975/1400, no HW errors = 375 kHash ...
two cards R9 270 - TC 16384, LG 2, -g 1, I 19, 1050/1500, no HW errors = 850kHash ...

later .. I will add third 270

I got 6GB RAM
I use MSI afterburner for overclocking and FAN speed... (but now I'm trying without overclocking)

I'm trying it on clean HDD ... new windows installation - before drivers installation I make restore point ... if drivers not good working, I use restore point and PC is in state without graphic drivers ...

I try drivers 13.1 from gigabyte.com, drivers 13.2 from original CD, drivers 13.12, but still the same problem

I try with 8GB RAM, but no change

I shloud have maximum 345kHash with TC 8192, LG 2, -g 2, I 13 ... no HW errors (if I increase Intensity, then I get errors) ... if overclocking 1050/1500 (my maximum) then 375kHash (but I think this will be not stable)

so .. better CPU will increase kHash ? (I don't think so)

on my two other rigs, If I set bigger TC, I get number 536870912 in error too ...

I always have problems with less than 4GB RAM on windows 7. I have a 7950 that will get 600k with 4gb ram, but plugged into a pentium D that only allocates 3.25gb ram, the most I can hash is 550k with a few HW's. I'm selling the pentium D and upgrading to Core 2 Duo.

For anyone who encounters this same issue with setx gpu_max_alloc_percent 100 not working...

You can check the registry edit in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ENVIRONMENT... if the DWORD value there is not in ALL CAPS, you must delete it. Then re-open command prompt and send the command again, but with ALL CAPS. It would appear that the AMD APP SDK does not recognize it unless it is in all caps, even though the registry won't overwrite if you re-pass with all caps. You must delete the old key first. Fun stuff.

I'll play with threadcount and get back to this thread later with my heat results. Quick googling shows for about $50 you can pick up a GELID ICY REV 2 and drop temps even when max OC down to 70-80, even in a case. I'll have to test the stability at high temps with a single gpu thread and a high threadcount for stability before aftermarket modifications (even if I have to run the fan at 90 or something ridiculously loud)... with multiple threads it seems to get a lot of HW NONCE errors (which from what I gather is basically shared memory getting overwritten by the other cores, causing invalid submissions).

I have some of those exact cards here is config for 440-450khash with cgminer 3.7.2

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
C:\cgminer-3.7.2-windows\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://your.pool:3333 -u user.1 -p x --thread-concurrency 21568 --gpu-fan 80 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1500 --lookup-gap 2 -w 256 -I 19 -g 1

Are you running a monitor on that card? in windows? Whats the temp sitting at?
Thanks in advance.

Hey there, I just recently setup my R9 270 - Gigabyte.

I'm using CGMiner 3.7.2
With a .bat file containing,

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer.exe --scrypt -u workername -p password -o pool address -w 256 -I 17 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 15508 --temp-target 75 --temp-cutoff 82 --auto-fan --no-submit-stale

Also, have latest Catalyst driver and SDK v2.9.

Good luck, hope this helps you.

Zeak

I get 420 kH/s without overclocking.

Remove Calaytics 14.XX or 12.XX use 13.X drivers make sure you removed by using AMD uninstall tools. and reboot after that. If not solve addsome extra RAM at least 4 GB max TC 24k... for more 8 GB ram needed!

hello

GIGABYTE R927OC-2GD, - 975/1400
Windows 7 Professional x64, 4GB (EDIT: try with 6/8GB, still the same problem)
drivers from gigabyte.com v. 13.1
sgminer 4.0_win32
I 19, TC 8192, LG 2

ONLY 320kHash with 5% HW  (EDIT: 345kHash with I13, TC 8192, LG 2, -g 2, no HW errors)

friend got the same problem in windows .. when he uses linux, he got 470kHash
I think problem is with allocation memory ... card is using only 512-570MB of 2GB ...

when I try higher TC:
Maximum buffer memory device 0 supports says 536870912 (in B Huh = 512 MB Huh)

where got I problem ? how to solve it ??

if you have the same card, can you post your drivers (version, link), version of cgminer, windows and setting ?

thanks
