I have the same

How do you manage to dig up a thread this old? I mean did you really go that far back in pages, or was it some search that triggered? This should be locked.

Unfortunately when you use search it spits back threads by search relevance I believe rather than by date.  The guys posted "I have this" must have search for 6950 or PCI slot or something like that.

Also GPU mining is in almost all cases a profitless endeavor, so why spend money on loosing more money?

Because someone with his time-machine brought us this thread from 2011. Smiley

Zombified post bump from 2011.  I can't even find motherboards with PCI slots anymore.  Even the large ATX ones are almost entirely populated with PCIe slots.

It is possible to add a card through a converter.  The converter costs more than most current low/mid end motherboards so it doesn't make sense to buy it.

i have a problem, anyone had this before?
my mboard has 2x pci-eX16 and 2x pci-eX1 slots.
When i add my radeon's with an extender (ebay pci-e x1 to x16 converter), linux lists them with lspci, but radeon driver doesn't work with them.
also cgminer does not recognise them too.

anyone had this same problem and found a solution?
