Anyone have first hand numbers on the 7750?

I'm running the ASUS HD 7750 factory overclocked to 900, using MSI AB to get 1000/850 for core/mem.

Running GUIminer I get stead 148.5 MH/s using -v -w 128, slightly higher with -f 10 but then I can't stream videos...  Its been stable for at least 4 days with temp under 70 and fan under 50%.

If the card is pulling the 55W it claims then I'm getting nearly 3 MH/W or about $20/BTC.

I'm going to start playing with the power and voltage but I'm a little scared since I'm new to this.

Tacotime- what card are you getting 200MH/s with?

Anyone have first hand numbers on the 7750?

Picked up one of these about a month ago:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125417

It's a 7750, factory-overclocked to 880 MHz.  At stock settings, it'll do about 133 MH/s.  Temperature is usually in the low 60s; fan speed stays at 39%.

I just started playing with the settings in bfgminer a bit ago.  Turned on fan and GPU-engine autotune...fan stopped until the temperature hit 75°C.  I can slow the memory down from 1125 MHz to as low as 750 MHz; it got set back to default if I tried 600, 700, or 725.  Kicked GPU speed up to 950 MHz...144 MH/s, 70°C, 33%.  Kicked it to 975 MHz...something got wedged and I had to look up how to force a reboot:

Code:
echo 1 >/proc/sys/kernel/sysrq
echo b >/proc/sysrq-trigger

Looks like fsck completed OK and bfgminer restarted at stock settings.  I think I'll keep it there for a little while.

Thats on a 7770? does that need a power cord from the psu?

That's correct.  It has a six-pin connector because it occasionally draws >80w when overvolted or in things like Furmark.  The rated TDP is 80w.  I'm running 1100MHz core and 651MHz RAM with my power control (limiter) setting at -9%.  The power control setting is kind of neat, the card throttles if it gets above a certain power usage in watts.

Using diablominer with -v 1 -w 256 -f 10

It's actually a great card for $100, essentially it's 1/3 of a 7970.

That performance is to be expected, it shows how gpu architecture as bottomed out since it is the same performance as 5770/6770.

Eh, I'm only pulling 60w at 200MH/s, I'm happy enough with 3MH/s/watt.

That wiki is a good starting point, but it's not at all complete (or accurate) half the time. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've always gotten 10-20% higher than what that list says I should be getting on my hardware.

The wiki is wrong beyond repair.  There needs to be a cleaner peer-reviewed  complete list...

Yeah, I noticed that your rates were higher... you should definitely add your cards and settings to the bitcoin mining hardware wiki. At the time of posting, this was the highest reported rate I could find on the boards.

It's just a regular 7770 at 15% OC... no voltage changes... default cgminer settings..

So are these 7770 worth it over the 5770?

Not even close. Check here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64241.20

Max for 7770 is around 180 Mh/s with significant overclocks

I get 224 mh/s on my 7770 @ 15% oc.

It's probably the first time in my life I hear "if it's plural you REMOVE the s"... Shocked

English isn't a language that makes any sense; don't expect it to.

I agree. I never understood the "Oh, you know, English is easy to learn!". Yeah sure, if don't mind that like 85% of your verbs are "irregular" and that words are chopped in half everywhere.

"The 've? Oh, that is the word "have", you don't recognize it? I know, it's missing 50% of the letters, but it's the SAME thing!" Took me decades to master this art... Grin

The plural form of "say" is "say"?
Correct. "A and B say hi" is the plural form, and "A says hi" is the singular form. Additionally, "I say hi" is the correct singular form when using "I", and "We say hi" is the plural form when using "we".

It gets a bit confusing sometimes. Wink

"Radeon 7750 and 7770" is a plural subject; you need say, not saysWink

Hey dude! I'm French! Give me a chance  Tongue

But there's no plural for "say"? I know "Radeon 7750 and 7770" are plural, and that's why I put an "s" to say. The plural form of "say" is "say"?

No worries.

"says" is for singular subjects, "say" for plural. English isn't a language that makes any sense; don't expect it to. Wink

While I do not know the hashes, the specs on these cards vs the price should make them not a great mining card.

The 7850 on the other hand should be quite interesting.

I'm really interested in it's performance! Although I don't expect it to be more than 170Mhs at stock clocks, still... If you could try to downclock it to as low voltage as possible at stock clocks and measure power consumption, that'd be perfect =)))

check this out: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7770/Pages/radeon-7770.aspx

"Fold and mine faster than ever with AMD App Acceleration powered by the unprecedented 28nm GCN Architecture."

You have to keep in mind, that GCN is much more efficient than VLIW4 or VLIW5.

I ordered that Asus 7750 today just for fun. Although the stats I saw had it at 832 SPUs...ooopsie. Still, it is rated @ 55w max, so we'll see. I'll post a detailed review this weekend.

What are the specifications of a GPU which affect hashrate?

What is SPU?

Thanks

Did the maths on the 7770... somewhere around 215 Mh/s, It's little bro, the 7750, does 172.

mind you this is quick and dirty off that we've seen a 7970 do.

So yeah, same hashrate as the 57x0/67x0 cards, but a much smaller power requirement.

I thought 6770 was VLIW5, so the higher spu count is mostly irrelevant.

looks like they'll be pretty pathetic for hashing purposes.
here's to hoping the 78XX has some better offerings.

Hi 7770!
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=radeon+7770&x=0&y=0

Hi 7750!
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121558&Tpk=radeon%207750

I know they're not as attractive as the 79xx series, but since the 5770 and 6770 had an interesting 100$ for 200 MHash/s, I suppose it could be interesting to check it out. But sadly, they have less SPU than the 6770.

640 SPU for the 7770, 800 SPU for the 6770
512 SPU for the 7750, 720 SPU for the 6750
