When I first started mining with my Radon VII is was making $1 a day now its $1.57 if things keep going up those numbers will improve.

I hear you, but you must also take into consideration the wear and tare of your equipment in the upcoming summertime.

What is the value loss of your gpu, mb, psu, hdd/ssd running 24/7 compared to the dollar+ a day you make from mining?
You might actually be running at a loss all things considered.

I'm waiting, even if they are equal or navi is worse for mining waiting will allow you to save some $$$ as a new burst of radeon used 7s go on the market and retailers/distributors start discounting their current inventory. At this point there are a lot of navi leaks but tech leaks are about as reliable as a coin flip.

Yeah but you can probably mine more than $100 of crypto in the months it takes for Radeon 7 to drop $100. In fact you can grab the free games and sell it for $35 - $50 usd per card right now. And Navi won't have free games in the beginning, and at best it will be half of Radeon 7's hash rate (8gb gddr6) and similar efficiency.

Still, only $1.3 profit per radeon 7 per day now.

Who wants the hassel to mine with the heat and the noise in summertime for a little more than a dollar a day. Where is that a lot of money - in the slums of Bangladesh?

I would expect the first releases of Navi to be about Vega 64 +20% gain in performance at a lot less power consumption. Later when they refine the process I expect a 15% boost on top of that.
It looks like a lot of sites have already created their own speculation about the performance of NAVI just like this one https://wccftech.com/amd-navi-radeon-rx-gpu-rumors-navi-20-2020-rx-navi-graphics-cards/
according to that site and there will be no significant increase but that depends on what kind of AMD NAVI that you have expected dude. Im waiting for RX3090 because it's really cheap compared with VII(based on the speculation price that already mentioned in the article).

I wouldn't expect too a low of a price to start with, maybe after some 6 to 12 months after release we could see prices to be cheap as you put it. Those price speculation are very optimistic in my view.

Highly unlikely navi is hbm2, would have to be gddr6 to be even remotely competitive in price.

hbm x gddr6, if navi is hbm then is a buy if not then forget. Also, if you think about future mining then forget amd, focus on nvidia, but pay attention, nvidia right now is not a good buy, navi will likely be better buy than any gpu available, wait and check navi top end gpu rx 690/3090, maybe hbm will come with it.

Ballpark maths.

Radeon 7: $700. 84Mh/s at 230w.

Navi: Assume $300, with 8gb ddr6, similar performance to Rtx 2070. Assume 42Mh/s at 115w.

6x Radeon 7 rig: $700*6 + $400 psu + $200 mobo,ram,cpu = $4800 (504mh/s at 1480w - 1380w + 100w rig)

8x Navi: $300*8 + $250 psu +$200 mobo,ram,cpu = $2850 (336mh/s at 1020w - 920w + 100w rig)

6x Radeon 7 - $7.75/day profit at $0.075/kwh, 619day ROI

8x Navi - $5.10/day profit at $0.075/kwh, 558day ROI

For me I recently bought a bunch of Vega 7s because I could get them at $670 usd + sold the games and my cost basis was $635~. Plus half the cards, half the problems, half the work imo.

Totally agree with you, it's better to build a rig with fewer but stronger cards, it's easier to set up and maintain
