What the hell.  Sign me up for 2 raffle tickets.

pm'ing txid

The raffle has been cancelled.

I will refund you all 0.002, what's your BTC address please?

so you say 1 ticket could walk away with it winning 40x times the amount...you have two tickets sold n yet you cancel it? that doesn't seem fair Tongue should put a min. ticket number or something

True. I was looking for a minimum of 3 people to enter.
I have however, refunded MORE than the amount, so the sole entry actually made money!

Confirming receipt of refund.  This one is officially going down in my "hell ya I actually made something at bitcoin" books which of course are far outweighed by my "shit I got goxxed" book(s).

Sorry to see the raffle cancelled as I was feeling particularly lucky (being the only one that participated might've had something to do with this) :p

You did not specify a minimum ticket purchase, and you did states that "If nobody bids, I probably will cancel the raffle". 2 people bought tickets. To stay in the good graces, I'd throw those 3 tickets in a hat and pick one. People will see that you canceled the last minute, with tickets bought, and will not want to participate in other games you may host.

Only one person bought 2 tickets.

I have since refunded him 0.003BTC, with 0.001 added by way of a goodwill gesture.

Hope that shows I am not out to scam.

Don't make me close the raffle!
Since there's no entries so far, you can easily come and win with one ticket!

If you buy 1 ticket and win, you make 40x your ticket cost!

If nobody bids, I probably will cancel the raffle.
It is simply too cost-ineffective for me if nobody buys any tickets.
I would have to pay for power while missing out myself on the BTC I could have mined.

At least with a raffle I can make back some of the lost money.

If nobody bids, do you randomly choose a post number to give away the prize?

this is just imo - 1 week is too short. also i can tell someone buying x4 tickets will already help you net 0.004 on what miner itself can do within a 1 week period.

I would understand, if the performance was higher but 180 does not give much.

Edit: nevermind - i just saw the 0`s wrong.

180 GH/s will get you around 0.04BTC in a week.

Entrants can buy one ticket for 0.001BTC, and the potential prize is 40 times this.
If entrants choose to buy 10 tickets for 0.01BTC and they win, their prize will be 4 times this.

I think the odds are quite reasonable.

The winner's draw will be videoed to prove it is indeed random and provably fair.
The BTC address doesn't really need to be 'clean' in my opinion, I'll post transactions here. The previous transactions are small and were utilitarian.

You can still keep making videos multiple times, then when you get a result that favors you upload that video to Youtube. Would you yourself even want to enter a contest that is not provably fair?

Why would I favour anyone?
I have no 'friends' or desired winners on this forum.
If you don't trust me not to scam you out of a few dollars, don't enter - currently, with no entries, odds for ticket-buyers will be extremely high.

You need to make the raffle provably fair. So the users know you won't just choose a person you want to win. You can do something like the last 3 digits of the last txid = winning raffle #.

I'd suggest a clean address so people can see the tickets being bought..You have transactions on that address already, and it can lead to confusion.

Raffle closed due to lack of entries. The sole entry has been refunded.

I have seen an increase in popularity in raffles/contests so I thought I'd start my own to celebrate me receiving my Antminer.

The free 'Random.org' website will be used for the prize draw. The prize draw will be videoed and placed on YouTube to show it is fair.

THE PRIZE: ONE WEEK'S ANTMINER S1 HOSTING

The Antminer S1 mines at 180GH/s, and if you ask nicely, I'll overclock at the request of the winner.
This will make approximately 0.04BTC in a week for the winner.

How to enter:
Raffle tickets each cost 0.001BTC. So, if you want to buy 10, the total cost will be 0.01BTC. The more tickets you buy, the better chance of winning you have!
Please make your payments to this raffle address then be sure to PM me the transaction ID.
ADDRESS: 1JSA1xYYQ7sFisCase3hf1uyeQfwp92vko

On Tuesday, entries will be closed and one ticket will be randomly picked autonomously.
The winner will be contacted and his/her mining pool details requested to start the 1 week's mining.

Good luck!

I cannot be held responsible for any short power or internet outages that may cause problems with the mining.  If the winner has a problem with the hosted hashpower, he or she must contact me as soon as possible to resolve any problems.

If you do not trust me with small raffle money, please do not bother to harass me by posting.
I would use an escrow but many services are not raffle friendly and the small amounts and high frequency of entrants would make it time consuming etc.
I am trying make an acceptable raffle with a good prize for tiny entrance prizes.

Please do not label me a scammer for hosting a raffle. If I do scam you all, feel free to mark me as one, but please do not judge me until I prove delivery of the hashpower.
