President Obama has been spending a lot of time with the 1 percent lately, trying to get them to pony up to keep Democrats from losing control of Congress in November.
In the process, he's shown just how much the Democrats have become the party of crony capitalists and paternalistic rich liberals who would rather throw coins to the poor and middle class than give them real opportunities.
On Wednesday, Obama was in Cambridge, Mass., for a "roundtable discussion" with about 25 supporters who paid $32,400 each for the opportunity, followed by a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Boston where the tickets started at $5,000 a pop.
On Tuesday, Obama attended a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser at the home of former Sen. Chuck Robb in McLean, Va. -- one of many inside-the-Beltway havens for people who have gotten rich off federal government cronyism funded by U.S. taxpayers. Price of a ticket: $10,000 to $32,400.
How many of the middle-class Americans who pay taxes to make these people rich could afford that?
The Democrats like to complain about the "evil" Koch brothers, one of whom, David, recently donated $35 million to the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History to build a new hall for its collection of dinosaurs. That's the largest single donation ever to the publicly-administered museum and nearly twice the $18 million both brothers have spent on federal elections since 1989.
On the list of top political donors compiled by OpenSecrets.org, the Koch brothers rank only 59th. Meanwhile, the top 10 list is dominated by unions and corporations which benefit from handouts and special favors from government (which really means you, the taxpayer) and give overwhelmingly to the party that keeps them coming, the Democrats.
"The heart of who we are as Americans but also who we are as Democrats, as the party of Jefferson and FDR and JFK, is the simple premise that everybody in this country, if they work hard, can get ahead; that everybody has a chance to live out their dreams; that opportunity is there for the taking if you work hard, if you are responsible," Obama told the rich donors in Boston.
Really? The Democrats' actions speak louder than their words.

He obviously had to leave, since the time was up. The "reporter" is a slimy rodent educated by a messed up system.
He could have finished the question. I'm surprised he just left. He should have said he had to go to other interview not just turn and walk away, I would have believed it then.
I do agree the reporter was happy it happened. He knew it would get air time. But you can't blame a reporter for being happy they got a good blip to sell to news channels.
"Last question..." A venue like this is not free or cheap for CNN. Even the rodent 'journalist' knew that. He NEVER took the opportunity to ask his SOOOOO important last question minutes before someone said "LAST QUESTION!". And even then he asked another question, not that SOOOOO important last question he was dying to ask... You know, the one that came after rand paul was called again by the CNN crew.
How come we never see a longer video of at least 30 minutes BEFORE the "scandal"? Do you know why those videos are always so tightly edited when you can have 10 minutes of free space on youtube and then let the public decides?
Why is that? Do you have an answer? I do.
I will play the opposite just for fun. It could be that people get bored easily and just showing the highlight will get more views. Maybe the reporter hit a nerve with his last question.
The real answer is it's politics. You are under a microscope on everything you do. If you are going to run for president wether or not you are a front runner, it makes you news. And a 30 second blip is easy for most news outlets to put into show. Politicians I think are use to having every answer fact checked, every move watched. It's part of the politics game.

, I will ask myself that question: how come politicians do not surround themselves with staff loaded with GoPro cameras pointing at that nest of 'journalists'? All you need is 2 guys/gals and 4 GoPros 4K black edition, front and back. Every angle would be recorded (a burned time code would be best) BUT from the politician's point of view...
I think if rand paul is open minded enough to accept bitcoin he will be open for that experiment.. At least it will be the best recorded campain event ever. Shot in 4K. 2X360° fisheye!

Yeah sure they are which is why they spend millions on presidential campaigns so they could pay less on their taxes for the next few years. This is why we can't have things we ask for during presidential elections and why they lie about their offerings to us as a society.

Video was worth a watch. I only hope the debates are this exciting *crosses fingers* he does same thing when questions get hard at debates.
