can someone PLS explain wtf is goin on in the transaction below? I got an email saying someone sent me about $4 in BTC ...looking at the details, it seems they've sent to a lot of people and I'd just like to know what it means??

Bitcoin Transaction:
48f069889e139d18d124b69c7914493fee9f475f77241fd2884e438c96b3a7f9

on a side note: should I attempt to accelerate this transaction?

It's a double-spend transaction and it will most likely never confirm. It's simply faked to make it look like you received bitcoin, probably to try and scam you.

Could you give a bit more context about the email? What were they saying about the transaction? Did they ask you for any money?

This is what it will be - always be wary of anything in the crypto world - especially dodgy emails.

I would be cautious about it, if those coins are coins retrieved by hacking and/or phishing your wallet can be flagged. I have friends that had the same problem but their wallets were on exchanges. The exchanges have temporary blocked their accounts, due to the fact that those coins were earned by fraudulent actions.

What are you talking about? There are no coins he never got sent anything. Flag your wallet? Blocked account for fraudulent activity? What exactly are you talking about? Are you here? Are you with us because only you know what you talking about.

That is probably a phishing email. Don't click on any links.

1. Anyone can send anyone an email claiming anything.
2. Does your wallet show that you were sent some bitcoins? If it does, then you may be $4 richer. If doesn't, then forget it.

Yep I've got many of these emails. You use to get PayPal ones and now it's upgraded to Bitcoin. I get these emails fairly often but never see them because they get put into the spam folder. Why would there be money going into your wallet when you know noone is paying you for anything and you are not expecting a transaction. Also why all of a sudden do you get emails about transactions, it never did that before. People don't think if these things and greed gets to their head and they think they have some free money then click the link login and lose everything.
