Being a longtime member doesn't mean you should be given activity points, since activity requires posting. You have options to post non-crappy but why you didn't?.

I also suggest that signature campaign manager should not accept non-english speakers, with this i think spammers and crap posters will be minimized.

Most of the problem campaigns have managers that don't do anything about the quality of users they accept and that's the issue here. Until badly run campaigns are severely punished then nothing is going to change.
They have SMAS list right? and I think it should be mandatory to make each Campaign Managers to use each of their SMAS list to prevent shitposters and alt accounts to continually minimize them. But every now and then i'll just see new Campaign Managers for Altcoins and for BTC , which i think should be supporting the SMAS list.

nobody can not change it unless the owner or the administrator,
it's created this way to prevent a signature spammer and spammer,
in other word if they allow you to increase your rank by doing posts i believe we will see a thousand shit posts created in the future.
even right now you can see something like that,
for example i saw an account that have a post history for a single word.
like this 'shasing' and else.

so,please be understand about the rules and terms.
and also you just need a little bit more time and spend a little bit of your effort into it and your account rank increase.
just accept it and don't complain, you should be grateful that they allow you to join their forum

I completely agree. You should exert effort into something if you want to achieve something. The moderators here are very active to entertain any concerns that any member has so everything in here are perfect to me.

Im not really against how theymos is running his forum..
I am almost completely against it. It's flawed from several perspectives.

If a user clearly haven't contributed anything—literally anything—in this forum, why would someone grants his/her demands re: forum rules?
Demands? I was not talking about granting any demands.

Also about Rizzarolla's list, only a few members of this forum really cared about that and it seems like the admins don't have much time to take a look about it due to Epochtalk.
The number of hours that admins spend on Epochtalk per week is near 0. Aside from theymos directing the development every now and then, Cyrus has zero hours to contribute to that project. Even if they were busy, that would just be another bullshit excuse.

A lot of folks seem psyched about DeepOnion. Is there a discussion you can link where people discuss it being a likely scam coin?
A lot of shill accounts and greedy fools. There is enough to be found in the relevant reference links and by using a search engine.

QS is a delusional pest and a scammer. Ignore it. Smiley

Maybe remove signatures until you become a senior member? But that would only again lead to an increase in trading of accounts.
This is a tough question to resolve.

This would just encourage more farming. Look how bad it already is with people shitposting to get to Jnr Member etc.

No, the ranking system is too lenient and spammers aren't punished correctly as is.

I can't get in on DeepOnion airdrops...

the rank should not be change unless the owner of this forum change it, you said that you are since 2013? why you did not read about the ranking in this forum, and if you are since 2013 then your rank now is higher, for you to rank you need to post because every 2 weeks 14 activity added and it defends upon on how many post you had.

-snip-.

Im not really against how theymos is running his forum, but the mere fact that not even the slightest of actions being taken on such activities make these people involved think that it's okay and being tolerated in a way. And here we have a thread which 'demands' to overhaul the old ranking system because he cannot join an airdrop by a supposedly scammy ICO.

That's also a tough debate. I wouldn't just do that for *all* accounts, but there are different ways of approaching that. Rizzarolla has a nice thread where he lists a huge number of farmed accounts that are just mindlessly shitposting. Absolutely nothing has been done against them

Well I hope that Epochtalk would at least solve some of these long-standing problems.

Or just nuke the account if it gets the second ban.
That would be a bit too extreme and just a dream at this point. I don't think that theymos would even implement that activity reduction let alone account destruction.

That would be the ultimate punishment any account might face and to ensure that the account wouldn't be used in any form in the future.
A secondary ban does not necessarily have to mean that you deserve destruction or otherwise I probably wouldn't be here now. Cheesy

If there is an old account that hasn't contributed anything in the forum for ~4 years, I don't think it should receive any privileges of ranking since it hasn't done anything useful for this forum except for taking up some space in this forum's database.

No, the ranking system is too lenient and spammers aren't punished correctly as is.
Not only is it too lenient, it actually encourages spamming. Any suggestions as to what would improve it?
More frequent bans, 50% activity deduction on your second ban for spamming. The '50%' is my lenient suggestion, I'd personally go with something like 90%.

I can't get in on DeepOnion airdrops because I don't have the correct membership to be able to post an ad in my signature. Now I've been here since 2013. I don't post much but when it's important I'll come talk about it. Is that style acceptable enough to somehow still retain some sort of trust around here? Can you think of a way ranks could work that involve age of account and refraining from posting crap and/or being a nuisance?

I was also thinking of changing the formula so there was less need to frequently post and age of account were more important.
That would do the complete opposite IMO. That would start a huge wave of accounts that get registered only to remain dormant and spam later.

Remove signatures from ranks and make people pay to get a signature then problem solved. This would also stop account sales and farming 99% and stop people who can barely speak English signing up with hundreds of accounts and spamming nonsense day after day just to rank them up.
We all know the likelihood that the current ruler of this place will implement such a measure. Roll Eyes

So you are saying that you have been here for over 4 years, but haven't really contributed to the forum. Now that someone has offered to buy your signature, you want to increase your ranking, and start posting. What will you be contributing that you couldn't contribute over the past few years?

It sounds like a good reason to keep the ranking system unchanged.

Yes, that would definitely help. I was also thinking of changing the formula so there was less need to frequently post and age of account were more important. Not sure exactly how it should work but the present system encourages/rewards over posting.

Scammers like Quickseller would just make thousands of accounts which would gain value over time?   Never work.
