There is big question arising after this attack. I’m thinking now whether the NFT value will depreciate after this or will increase after this incidence because it has been victim of hacks. Lolz.

I don’t know but I’m thinking those NFT which got stolen will have no value and peeps gonna dislike the NFT right away and they will stop bidding on it. Not sure if the ownership is also transferred with this hack and what kinda damage overall it got.

This is the story which will make everyone think that even NFT is not secure neither the funds on exchangers were.

Lightning network is good with small amount of BTC
So NFTs are nothing but same as existing cryptocurrencies? It hold its own unique identity so the hacked NFT can be tracked right?
Most of the NFTs have been sold but the addresses of people that sold and bought it can be known as the blockchain is transparent. There are ways the scammers are smart enough and make use of decentralized exchanges to make themselves more untraceable and making it getting come complicated.

Anyway hackers are becoming more smart so its important to extra careful with our digital assets.
People need to be very careful, especially not to click on links sent by someone to them, in discord, even links from reputed source should be considered malware link because any account can be compromised.

NFT project, Rear Bears has been hit with an attack, a phishing link that users can click to steal their Non Fungible Tokens. The malware was reported to have enabled the hacker behind it to steal 179 NFTs, including Rare Bears and other NFTs from various collections, including CloneX, Azuki, a “mfer” from artist sartoshi, and 6 LAND tokens used for The Sandbox metaverse. This is not the first of this type of malware, but it has been a new way hackers are able to steal from discord users that click on the phishing link after compromising the project head of the discord account.

According to on-chain analysis, most of the NFTs were sold, netting the hacker 286 ETH, worth over $795,500, most of which was promptly put through Tornado Cash, a crypto mixer used to obfuscate the source of funds.

A slate of similar phishing scams have occurred in recent months on Discord, suggesting some teams need to more carefully consider the security on admin accounts. Earlier today, the Rare Bears team posted that they had hired security consultant and auditor “Pandez” for a full security audit of its Discord.
