Do you think I could use raspberry pi for bitcoin mining?
'coz it's cheap rather than the traditional pc or dedicated mining machines.

For mining bitcoins, this is not cost-effective, but if you start with pos mining and choose a suitable coin, then raspberry pi fits well here.
Examples of coins that are designed for pos mining:
Universe(uni)
Bitradio(bro)
ReddCoin(rdd)
DeepOnion(onion)
It will be possible to mine ethereum very soon, but you should have at least 32 coins.

I believe that this is one of the most asked questions here on Bitcointalk or any other platform that is dedicated to mining. The answer is... yes. HOWEVER not for standard use.

Can you mine it? Yes.
Are you going to earn Bitcoins? Maybe.
Is it profitable in the short term? No.
Is it profitable in the long term? No.

The short answer is, there are special machines that can mine Bitcoin, those machines have been the norm. At the same time, because of those machines that the mining difficulty (think of it as math complexity) of Bitcoin has risen. A Raspberry Pi CAN mine however it will be so slow that you will not see any profit whatsoever. However, mining is a wonderful thing. There is perhaps a 0.000000000001% chance of you finding a block. Maybe even lower. If you wish to gamble your luck in hopes to find a block in the next 50 years, go ahead. Otherwise, it's useless.
