I like your analysis.

Bold are the ones in my portfolio.  VEN is my top coin holding, NEO is 3rd.

I suggest you look into; ICX, ONT, and WAN also.

Thanks. VEN truly is a gem Smiley Invested in it in September (and unfortunately, sold a little bit too much too early haha).  Actually, I sold ICX some days ago. I just had to prioritize some coins but I am willing to change my mind if the time is right.

I only read about ONT and WAN when it already mooned and feared it is too late now. Any news that might tell otherwise?

ICX is in it's infancy IMHO and should grow a lot more...but if you got VEN in lieu, it could be a better investment (but I prefer to diversify and I am holding almost same coin qty of these two).

ONT will have Mainnet release next month...could be a good thing.

WAN integrating ETH next month and BTC (and various coins) by end of year may be a big thing.

One other coin I am building my holdings is ARK...almost like ICX coins but seem to be on the shadows (a dark horse).  Once it get noticed, it could be HUGE.

It all depends on how you believe these events will impact the coin value. Smiley

I really like your overweighting of DAG coins. Nano is missing there, but it already increased a lot in it's price. So maybe it is not the best time to buy it.

And PRL is also a DAG coin? Are you sure?

Perhaps he's referring to PRL using IOTA, although I think this has changed just recently due to IOTA being behind, PRL have gone down their own path now.

Look again, NANO is #1 Wink By far.. I bought it for 0.12$. I had not much (unfortunately), but still. I love the development, the team is okay (marketing could be better, but they want to improve the tech before they go big scale). The BitGrail massacre was really bad, but BTC also had its Mt. Gox and it was okay in the long run.

PRL is not a DAG coin, but due to its strong ties to IOTA (and therefore price correlation) I put it in the same "category"

Do more research in to XSPEC, I would drop that first from your list.
Had a dev breakup, original dev was full of it, no concept or approach to stealth staking as of now either.

Been forked/split now with disputes between the old dev and team, it has a chance in the future but I wouldn't bank on it.

I like your view on Holo, will be buying this if it dips some more, bit wary after the recent pump

You have to believe in BTC, the whole market is tied to it, but I rather invest in alts than hold BTC, I swap based on movements, agree on Ripple though.

also not a fan of Verge of Tron, ADA is ok.

Agree with XBY being a scam, did a little research in to it awhile ago, 1 dev claiming the world with little github commits

Your approach seems ok, would look at a combo of mid and high risk though over just high risk, I've had "mid risk" coins outperform the rest.

Many thanks for the XSPEC heads up! I will definitely look into it today evening. What do you define as "mid risk" coins (excluding TRX, ADA and XVG)? Coins like WAVES, STRAT, DASH, QTUM, OMG,..?

I view mid risk more as great projects which haven't pumped and still have a good amount left on the roadmap with high volume.
You could view some of the higher cap coins as mid risk too, but the work which drove them up to those price points is done and bought up on, if they slow on development things could turn south.

High risk would be either a lot of speculation with little proof but a great concept, or similar to my above mid risk with little attention and low volume.

Neblio I consider a mid risk, Blockport a high risk for my 2 shilled examples.
I have enough faith in both projects and the teams though, I don't tend to go for the pure speculative high risk types, although I may do with Holo just because of the innovation and solution brought in by this tech, based on it's lack of work so far and nothing but speculation I would usually avoid, the 2 I've mentioned have already proven themselves some what with lots of work ahead and both solid additions to this space.

Hey there,

I am in crypto for 2 years now and I thought why not share my portfolio on Bitcointalk so a bunch of strangers can tell me what I am doing wrong Wink

Honestly, I want to share my coins (no shilling), maybe get some new insights and have a fun time.

See it here:

  • I am a strong believer in DAG technologies, therefore I am heavily invested in NANO, IOTA and also in PRL.
  • I have some „safe bets“ like VEN, XLM and NEO. If everything else fails, at least I have something to hold onto. I really do not open THAT discussion, but I do not „believe“ in BTC, nor XRP (coin with no use, too centralized, but Ripple as a company is nice), or ADA, XVG, TRX. I do not possess ETH as I only use it for investing in ICOs. Still, nice coin and the Flippening cannot come soon enough.
  • AION, GVT and DRGN are just really great companies. I like the communities, the progress and where all three projects are heading.
  • The following coins are potential 100x (and I think, why not just hold a little bit in all of them just to be sure?): DOVU, SHIFT, BRD, ITC, XSPEC, TDF, ARY, PBL, UTNP, HOT (both Hydro Protocol and Holocoin, while Holocoin is more like 20x). I REALLY believe in DOVU, XSPEC and SHIFT.
  • Coins I hate because I already lost too much money on them to sell now: PBT, LKK, GMT.
  • Coins I just like very much and wanted to be part of: REQ, OAX, SONM, CFI
  • XBY is a scam. Until now, nothing proved to me that it is legit. Still, if it is, why not have a little bit? ^^ But I would never recommend buying it until the team shows that it can actually deliver.

As you can see, my mentality is „If acting in a risky market, why not invest in the riskiest coin of them all?“.

Any thoughts? Did you make good/bad experiences with any of these coins?

yes ICX is good,
if you feel you can hold it at least for two months,i think it's worth.
other than that i am more bullish on SONM,
in June they will launch their own product(if i remember it correctly) and full mainnet.
lastly it should be QSP.
I do not like NEO,because in my opinion it's more like a centralized project other than decentralized.

Thanks, I will (again) look into ICX more closely and in QSP. I actually participated in the QSP ICO (which was really a quite nice experience, even though they went a little overboard with those bounty/community activities). I sold it shortly before the crash (even though QSP was not so damaged in Feb-Apr as many other coins) and then lost track of it. Good to hear some love for SONM, unfortunately you hear this not too often.

I am all for diversification and moonshots among others but I feel like you went a bit overboard here, no way you can watch the progress of ALL those projects in order to be most efficient. I would consolidate some positions and focus on the more promising ones(be it small cap or large cap as you wish).

I agree with you. I do not find the time to catch up with all the coins' progresses. I only invest much time in the top 10 coins of my portfolio, the rest I only look into when I see dramatic increases/decreases. I am okay with that. Look at XRB/NANO. I had that in my portfolio for months when it was worth 0.12$. Some day it skyrocketed. I am willing to lose track of 10-20 coins if one of them does what XRB did.
