Op truth been told allot is happening and self impression matter allot because failure to encourage oneself can leads to serious depression which may not go well with life. What I do now is avoiding anything that can course me depression and not in any means associate with dealing that may require me to comparison of not getting to the point in which others has gone, but never failed in pursuing the desire goal despite what may seem to be the obstacle because the economy is not smiling.

The story of lazard if no body encourage her she did it herself that has been a greate motivation to lizard no matter the height she falls down will keep shaking it's Head and continue, this is the true nature of life where success can be reached .

You just said the right thing, and in everything always rate yourself good no matter the situation you're in to and also add desire and make the right choices in life. Because what you don't desire earnestly you can never have, therefore desire is very powerful so always put that in your mind as your rating yourself good also do desire. One thing about life is that everyone wants to be somebody and some people they haven't gotten to where they want in life, they start trouble there self but there some who is out there praying to get to your level. So always try to rate yourself good.

If you can just seat back and think about where you were before and all the struggle and difficults you've gone through then you'll know you've tried, even if you aren't that alright right now but just keep to yourself that you've really tried your best. I know most people will be thinking they aren't living a standard life because they're friends or neighbors are living large let that doesn't be your concern. Keep to your self and put it mind and add desire towards yourself because you've tried being alive it's one thing you should be rating yourself good at this time hard time.

I so much like this your talk and e dey very encouraging, na true, and we supposed dey help each other for this country we dey so and for this life wey we dey live so because this life no really dey easy for people o especially for people wey no get any body dem go fit run to wen they for trouble and this life itself dey very frustrating because u no know wetin u go do way go seems right to people and if we reason the kind pressure wey dey for this country, we fit commit suicide or we fit run mad, so wetin we supposed do for this kind period na just to dey assist one another, dey encourage ourselves, dey positive say everything go better and also mk we dey hardworking because if we dey depend on people alone we go die and hunger go dey self, so if we get something doing we no go too reason this hardship period, so e dey very good mk we encourage ourselves in so many ways.

Rate yourself good despite the circumstances one find himself, that's how men operates. We should setup goals that will become targets for us in the space, I know it's not easy but we ought to grab our opportunities of winning in the system. We can't continue to jeopardize our opportunities in the space, rather we should become more open to explore our chances of earning enormous profits. We always see ourselves as some kind of demigod because we have strive so hard to reach this significant phase.

I think this thoughts have been flowing in people's minds mostly this period that things are very hard, this period of difficulty have made most people think that they are not doing well. However they are doing perfectly but because the economy is unstable it now looks like they are not trying their best at all. people that's earning 300k per month are doing well, at least they can eat 3 times per day and still make sime savings from there, but still they might mot be satisfied with it as things are getting costlier everyday, no ine should put them self in pressures because they want to make money.

Rating my self good , starting from when I was in secondary school to higher institution I have always make sure I follow the footsteps of my parents and guidance because they really tried to show me a way forward and I have always trying my best to keep to their standard ever since them till now

Even where I manage my side hustling ,many stole company belongings but I haven't for one day think of stealing because when I was small my parents if they eventually hear you stole you are finish so the fear of those days hasn't depart from me yet ,am always trying to make sure nobody call me a thief
Is a bad name indeed
I don't womanize as other boys do
I don't take achohol
I don't steal people properties or belongings

With this I know nobody is perfect but I rate my 95% good
Trying to excape with the bad that associates with things of  this world is one of the biggest challenge that we men and women are really facing ,to sertified things in one way or the other is a major challenges,to be a good person you need to stay far from some bad friends stay far from families so you can be reasoning nice , because evil mined corrupt good one ,stay very far from bad and wicked influencers so that your good imege can not be stain or tarnished,many bad friends spoiled good once,me if you come to my house sleep eat have a shower know I have already thick you good ,I can never entertain bad companies my life ,with all this I have already rate my self good

I believe that we might become so preoccupied with the unpleasant aspects of life that we lose sight of the positive. Keeping a thankfulness notebook can help us shift our focus and put things in perspective. And it doesn't have to be something elaborate or sophisticated; simply taking a few minutes each day to write down what you're grateful for may make a tremendous impact. So, when we are happy and thankful, our bodies may relax and perform more effectively.

No matter how bad the economy is, the lion will never eat grass, we're all trying our best to meet up in this trying times in the country. Its not easy at all. Sometimes, I wonder how people do meet up with their daily needs with the current rise in the price of virtually everything without increase in salary. We're heroes to have survived this far and still pushing ahead. One thing is for sure, giving up isn't an option. I advise everyone here to be proud of themselves and their accomplishments. Its not easy to have come this far. We're fighters and survivors and we believe things will get better very soon, one day. Let's keep the hope alive guys and one day, God will perfect our wishes and put us in the path of permanent riches.

The content is a deviation from the topic but then I will be guided by the intention of the originator of the post. It takes effort to live in society and more effort to survive in Nigeria. Nigeria has been greeted with uncertainty and that has made living difficult for the common man. The idea of ensuring the greatest happiness of the greatest number has been sacrificed on the altar of personal idiosyncrasy and that is why I subscribed to showering praises on Nigerians but if we must mitigate the difficulty then we must speak together and in one direction. Maybe the topic would have been "Remain Steadfast in this Time".

Well this is really true,  the best thing you can ever do to yourself is appreciating your effort and encouraging yourself to do more and also believe you can do better, exploit etc because if you don't,  what people say about you will sink into you and then you became frustrated, confused and sometimes you began to think if you are cursed. Staying positive all time is very important and it will make you to be healthy,  creative in some ways

This economy hasn't exactly been the best for anyone because no matter how much you want to calm stability, the drastic change in the economy definitely ruffled a feather or two of not more.

But instead of constantly complaining about the economy take a self-survey and rate yourself on what changed about you, how the economy has changed your habits and behaviors.

For one, it definitely helped create a spending consciousness. Nobody can say he/she maintained their regular spending lifestyle. Worst comes to worst you overspent because you were considering the future if there will be a hike in price of a certain commodity or not. So to avoid that you bought now to save for the future.

Another positive thing that came out of this economy was the need to learn a skill/get a virtual job

Yes the economy hasn't been friendly but the fact that you are trying to sail through the storm and not wait for it to pass is a commendable thing. No one will give you as enough credit for what you do other than yourself so as you keep trying take time to praise yourself and tell yourself how proud you are that you have the strength to continue

This is advice mainly for us Nigerians, the time that we are in is very difficult, so we are meant to maintain our level without competing with anyone, just do the needful by improving yourself by setting your goals and achieving it no matter what comes in between, life is has stage, everyone must not be in the same place at the same time, don't envy anyone, just make sure you are working out modalities to be where you want to be, ignore critics, unless they are constructive then you can learn from them, believe in yourself that's the only way you can grow and survive here, trash inferiority complex this is a situation of discomfort that tends to destroy your person, no matter the economy of this country people are still surviving so you should figure out a means to make it happen, as the wave of the economic situation of this country is, every average person is affected, but dont make it an excuse to fail.

  Everybody is at the receiving end of the current economic situation. It's hitting us fair and squarely without leaving anyone behind and we all are surviving based on the our very own capabilities. We can't really do more than intended of ourselves and it's a very big win for us to even scale through each day in this economy. Even with the unending laments, murmurs seeming like the economy would eat us all up, we've been doing our best to counter its attack on us.
  We do not need to curse ourselves or our strength, this is no time for comparison rather at this time, everyone needs to concentrate on herself, know your weak point and your break point, do not exceed your limit, do your best to survive and live the rest. The economy has always been deteriorating, this time won't be the last so we should prepare and motivate ourselves for more cases like this to come. We'd definitely pull through, think of your comfortability at this moment first before trying to be a cheerful giver to people. Now is not the time to be unnecessarily benevolent, we have to be cautious of every of our activities that balls around the economy. The race ahead is still a long one.

The bible done talk am. There is time for everything. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. If you read down you go know say when that time reach wey things go they better nah so so smile we go they smile. Make we remember say sorrow only they last for night but joy comes in the money. This kind era wey we they nah the time we suppose know our worth and always give ourself the value wey we need. E make sense say we get faith and at the same time they out am into action. Jesus done also tell us say anytime people they complain say there is a casting down, us need to say there is a lifting up. Faith cometh before prayer. As we they endeavour to become greater make we no look our self down, or feel like say we no they try. Nah small small life they take start before you know you done reach your dreams.

Sincerely impressed, from what I was able to convey in this topic, because this topic is more of encouraging and also remaindance to the community as well, though that is just the fact that in life, what you have achieved so far is greater than what you are losing, and also the struggle you have encountered before can’t be forfeited to give up; actually, people are suffering due to the economic situation in Nigeria. But all we have to know and understand is that any position in life is temporary, whether rich status or poor status. It is temporary and will soon come to an end, so anything we are doing, we should be considering and trying our position best to look at those that are blowing us, not those above us, because when ever you look at the situation of someone who is blowing you or suffering more than you, you will value what you have more, but if you are always looking at those that have more than you and are stable, you will find out that you are not grateful and can jump to the wrong conclusion that you will end up regretting.

This is the same factor that leads many youths in Nigeria to yahoo, fraud, armed robbery, money rituals, and a lot more, which is just as a result of not being grateful for what God has provided for them, and it is very bad because definitely one day they are all going to regret it.
 
I just use this medium to add up my perception because I was inspired by the content of the OP post, so I also add up to what the OP has discussed in order for us to be more generous and grateful for what we have, and definitely we will get more by the grace of God.

Yeah, what ever you do make you no forget to still dey appreciate your effort small small, my mama say when lizard fall from up knack ground em go nod em head to praise emsef say "I try, I try" this na one big lesson wey make we dey use take dey appreciate our effect because, if you think kill your self, life will still move on without you, so no dey do like say na only you dey for that kind of situation, currently to even feed for this country sef na war, who dey chop food three times a day never know wattin God do for am. All these motivation no be for person wey lazy oo, because laziness no follow for this talk oo, if you lazy na you dey do yourself, this motivation for for those wey dey work their ass out but no dey see result. So make we know ourselves first before we go think say na everybody we dey talk to.

As far as i am not lazy,i am trying my best in the forum and i will keep trying my possible best in the  forum and never relent until i achieve what i am here to achieve, i know i can not have it all the wey i mean it in my heart but i am gonna keep it real to my self that i am here for a purpose and i am gonna achieve what i am here for .

People way die last year no just know the kind stress and hardship promax them escape from, their own peace of mind is next to none. All this wahala and hardship them don escape am, no worries, no responsibilities, like them just the rest the rest in peace conveniently. It is well oh!
On a serious note inno easy for this country currently and if you fit the see two or three square meal chop for the day omor you dey try. No allow person oppress you by making you look like you no dey try.  No go follow things you the see for social media com the make you feel like you no the trunfor life, fake life full for the media, people way you the work hard the live better than go just make you look like nah your own worse pass thru social media. Life na turn by turn, no be all person go make am same day.

Right from the beginning, I already like the person way no dey reason watin pipo dey talk because that nah one of the things way they carry person go backward for life.
This economy of a thing nah something way really dey affect all of us, both the reach, poor and the common people, life nah just to dey live am on a low and not to dey rush am because who dey fund watin no dey fund am nah dey kick bucket quick quick, one thing for life nah just for us to try meet up, but still no be everybody go get am clear at the same time, if e never reach your turn wait with hard work and wisdom.

It always good for you not to allow societal pressure to get into you, in this present economic instability, you just have to leave within your means. Whatever you've achieved as a person, you should be proud of it, because it took your sweat and hardwork to have achieved it, don't let anybody talk down on your achievement.

Thanks @ O.P for this piece of advice in times like this when people are passing through a lot in this our country Naija. But however, I think the title of this thread would have been far more better if you had named it "Do not pressure yourself" instead of "Rate your self good, because from everything been said in the body of this thread, it talks nothing about about rating of one's self, but rather centered on encouraging people not to give and feel pressure in life base on the recent hardship cause by this present administration. Hence, avoid trying to engage in illegal things just to earn means, but rather strive to appreciating the little they have, as it relate to (i.e family pressure, relationship pressure, office pressure and society pressure e.t.c).

As long as I know that I haven't been lazy and that I am trying my best, I don't stress myself to making any comparison with anyone. Everyone isn't in the same phase at a particular time and not everyone will become successful at the same time. Some people even have better foundation than me while others don't even have the kind of foundation I have and this is the reason I like to do my thing at my own pace. I know it is necessary to out in the needed effort to at least measure up with my equals but I try as much as possible never to get unnecessarily intimidated by there successes or level of achievement. I try not to also see myself as someone that is better than any other person even though I might be better than them in some context. You might be better than me in terms of academics while I financially more stable compared to you. You just shine in your corner and allow another to shine in his corner without being intimidated by the radiance of another person.

People need to be reminded about this and give themselves more confidence in whatever they do. You are the only one that can appreciate yourself and give yourself good rating. Not everyone value what you do for a living and not everyone will give you applause for how far you’ve come in this life. Don’t look farther away and envy those that have more than you but appreciate the one you have by looking out for those that don’t even have up to you. Life is a transitional process and what is meant for you will never pass you by no matter how long it will take you to achieve it. Then why rushing to reach the success point when it is not yet time? We all need to appreciate every little thing we have now while hoping for the best that is yet to come and working towards achieving it.

When I been see your topic I been think say na another thing you wan talk, but as I open the thread na another thing I come see. To make am for this country dey very hard. And no matter what, people must think, because who get problem no dey sleep for night. But any how the country be person must not give up. Because giving up is the worst mistake.

The position you dey today, I think e get some of your friends you start with, them been no believe for your dream but as e don be like this now them dey jelouse you.

So for life no matter wetting we dey pass through make we no reason negatively, na because of hardship dey bring negative thinking. That's why you go see news for social media, as them dey use people pikin dey do ritual. Dem dey use jax collect people prick. And one thing be say if them catch you untop crime no excuse dem go Dill with you. Even that hardship wey make you go do crime go run leave you to suffer for jail. Make we just dey careful, work hard/smart and wait for wetting God go do for you.

This time we are is a difficult time, everything seems to be difficult because of the hard economy.  Some people this time might be thinking they are not doing better to live a standard life, do not allow this mindset to make you worry or make you feel bad. You have really trued your best and done well with what you have right now. Appreciate yourself, what you have right now, the level you see yourself right now people are struggling to get what you have achieved. Do not let anything or people around you to pressure you, life is a process and as far as their is life their is more success to come.

In this life nobody has it all, but as we continue to live let's expect to see more good things. Do not pressure yourself or think your case is the worse, you are really trying to reach this journey and it is not easy. Just believe the best is yet to still come.
