I’ve always thought Ravencoin was a good idea but it seemed to fall short on actual real world use. I had high hopes it would be supported by Overstock and RVN securities would be traded all over the place. I’m not aware of any actually being traded though. It might just be an issue of me not looking into it enough, but it seems like they have a problem with advertising if there are lots of RVN securities trading somewhere.
Is there anything apart from peer to peer payment that Ravencoin is good for? I think this is the only use case the project has and that's why the performance isn't as good as few other PoW projects like Kadena and Flux but not entirely bad either.

The miner who are located in the country that has a low electricity bill will might be gaining a good profit in mining this coin, but when you reside in the country that has a very high cost in electric product, its hard to continue doing this business. Goodluck miners!

Well I have my hopes up, I'm still mining it with 20% of my mining rigs + i have bought some 500,000 when it was 1.8cents few years ago and then decided to switch some of the rigs to mine it.
So far I have mined about 2million ( and haven't sold any so far ), at this moment mining about 3000/day and I'm happy how things are going so far but I have to admit that I'm sad I haven't sold any when it was selling for 25cent+

So my question is how many of you are mining it/hoarding it and for what price are you willing to part with all or certain percentage you have?

You shouldn't stick with ravencoin only, you already have millions so stop and look into other good coin like Flux, ravencoin is good for peer-to-peer payment and its pow but flux is more than that, I believe flux will be bigger in future, try to diversify.

Oh im not, I have many other coins, some were a bust some are in a good position. Glad Raven is still there, when the next big jump comes ill sell probably all. Atm planning to buy some more but still not decided Wink

Ravencoin is a good p2p slash pow coin that you can hold for long term but ROI wise you won't be getting enough compare to new smart contract projects with layer 1 and layer 2 innovations if you want the best returns in future make sure you diversify.

There is one thing I know about ravencoin and that's the ability to follow bitcoin price as it moves up, so if you can get some ravencoin at 0.02$ or 0.03$ and bitcoin goes to 100k in future your ravencoin will also surge a lot, this is why I like ravencoin.
I think that wasn't a secret anymore. Bitcoin is the main controller of all cryptos in the market so whatever happens to its price, others can also follow with it. I do believe that btc can soon reach 100k so buying and then mining some raven coin is a good idea to do.

@OP that's a sad story, missing a good opportunity but don't worry because a lot of us here do also experience that but maybe not specifically in raven coin but on bitcoins and other top cryptos. All I can say is don't give up and don't down yourself too much because this wasn't the end. I think that raven coin isn't a bad coin like meme coins and other hyped coins so there's still a chance that it can recover and pump up.

I don't understand why you didn't sell these coins for 20 cents. You can wait a long time for a good price or your coins will depreciate. I am selling coins in a bull market and I don't plan to sell anything right now because I have enough financial reserve.

Because at that point in my head it wouldn't change much, I mean I would have made 10x "invested" well more sinceI only bought 500k rest was mined ( and rigs were payed out years before ) but TBH i was perhaps kinda greedy, I wanted a bit more, my idea was to sell at 40cent, not sure why I had that number in my mind. When the next jump comes I just hope I wont make same mistake Smiley
I have already told my story about how greedy I was. I also did not sell mined coins and was waiting for a better profit, but the price of the coin dropped to 0. Since then, I do not hold less popular shitcoins, but prefer more famous coins.

How are you accumulating via trading? Can you teach me a single trick?.
What I mean is that I do trade (day trading different coin pairs) and then when I make any profits, I use them to buy RVN and any coins a feel will do well in the next bull market.

Of course, it's not a magic trick  Wink, Sometimes I do make losses in trading too, but I have a risk management strategy in place to avoid blowing off my account to zero.

I believe you are on the right path, OP. Just don't sell them at discount price. If the next bull run happens, you are in for a big kill. POW coins like ETC and RVN are showing some signs of what it may look like after ETH goes POS

I wasn't able to mine RVN, but I am trying to accumulate as much as I can via trading.

Yes same thing happened to me with Ethereum and Doge. I thought Doge was going to $1 and did not sell at 70 cents. I thought Ethereum was going to $20,000 and did not sell at $4,800.
Quick tip.

Don't always wait for those round figures. There's what we call psychological resistance. Always sell off before an apparent psychological resistance level. For Doge, it was $1, For BTC it was $70K, for ETH it was $5K. None of the prices of those coins got to the psychological resistance levels

We are all waiting for the next bull run but unfortunately it seems like we are from all late 2021 and up until now in a full crypto winter. As long as you have the coins there is not much you can do except being patient. They say "Patience is the virtue of the winner" and I think you should keep this phrase to you like a religion. You should be patient no matter what, even if the price of RVN goes to like 0.0025 dollars you should not make a not so well thought move.

Sadly all i can do now is wait, I have time and im not going to lose sleep over it but if it comes then there will be a new thing to "worry" about, how to get that money into legal waters Smiley

I think it is easy to do in small chunks.Use direct exchanges that pay directly to your credit card, bank account or any other payment method you prefer. In many countries VISA has a maximum daily that you can receive at 10.000 dollars which if done a couple of times in 2-3 different bank accounts with your family members then I think you already got 100.000 dollars more than legally I would say. Then a good chunk you can exchange in exchanges, not centralized ones again where you can exchange your Ravencoin into a more wanted crypto by people who exchange P2P,of course you need to be in your country in a good public area and use small chunks of exchanges, this way you minimize risks.

These are two of the best ways to exchange your cryptos for money from my personal experience.

It’s hard to say what will happen. Some miners of small cap coins got lucky in the past and held and sold during strong bull runs for 10x gains however there are some projects out there that simply failed and they didn’t make anything.

If you are just mining with 20% it’s fine but keep in mind that there is no guarantee the coin will go to ATH again. Many alts can lose 90% and you think it bottomed but it loses another 90%.

Oh i know that, invested in may alt coins over the years, 90% tanked but 10% that didnt made me profit thats 5-6x invested in all alt coins put together

My idea is to never lose money as in sell what i mine to pay expenses, to live a bit and rest I keep in case of next huge pump

ProgPow or equivalent egalitarian algos have a future and coins that use it.
Besides for security reason which any modern alog fulfills, PoW with consumer Products (eg. GPUs) brings the best decentralization and distribution.

Ravencoin happens to have such an algo but beyond that any coin even ETC could fork to it ...

So ProgPow definately has a future, Ravencoin maybe.

But the flip side to that is if you sold Raven Coin at 25 cents you would have had to pay taxes on $625,000! Or do you live in a part of the world where taxes are not an issue? All of the exchanges I know of that allow you to convert from crypto to local fiat are KYC so there is no way to dodge the tax issue.

Then again even after paying taxes you would be better off than hodling down to the bottom.

Oh I am quite happy with it at this point. I hope as BTC goes up Raven will follow and like you said sell all at 25cent and cash out - if it reaches that high next time Smiley
My moto has always been hold as much coins as you can but sell coins you need to cover your monthly expenses.
You could also trade your RVN for a basket of coins in order to diversify. But you are in an enviable position even at 3.8 cent RVN. Most miners years ago sold 99% of their coins instead of HODLing them and making millions. I personally missed out on hundreds of thousands of DOGE, DASH, ETH and LTC because I never saved up enough of the coins. From now on I'll never repeat that mistake again and I'll keep mining during the bear market.

My moto has always been sell enough coins you make to pay for bills + have a decent life ( changes daily/monthly due to value of coins i mine - atm raven and ETH ). So far I have always been in profit, had friends that lost 100s of thousands because they waited some insane numbers they have set, like one friend that waited for ripple to get to 10USD and then sell.

You are in a good position no matter what.Having 2 million coins of any coin even ones that are cheaper like Raptoreum which I am mining beside Ethereum can make an impact on our daily life.I used to mine it with my 4 GB cards when Ethereum Classic was not that good in price but I sold them at 14 cent each,I didn't believe much in this to be honest.I believe much but much more in the team behind Raptoreum which I am mining from little time.As I said you should hold the coins and sell for example at 25 cent where you didn't the first time if such opportunity comes again. That is 500.000 dollars which is a life changing amount even in very well developed countries.
