I feel like ASICs really have their place (I might have some bias there), but as long as there is some successful ASIC Resistant crypto out there I'll be using my GPUs.

Currently mining Vertcoin and I don't see any reason to stop that, why not both? Wink

Yes, I think so too. There are already a lot of ASIC-secure crypto-currency. Over time, they will be even more.

And if ASIC manufacturers find a way to bypass this protection, then there will be new ASIC-protected algorithms.

Remember: every action generates reaction!

I predict more coins in the future will be based on algorithms even more ASIC resistant so GPUs would still be the best way to mine those while making a competitive profit.

GPU, PSU,MOBO,and other components of computer have price for re-selling but Asics miners are useless when difficult to the moon (Asic == huge risk== u winner or u looser depends on time ,GPU= Guranteed ROI (+ more or less profit)=even u cant get roi but if u sell all  components less than half price to get ROI is more likely ),I say stay with your mining beauties or beasts until profitability and then sell them and make one good gaming pc for 10 years in future and keep smile so far,to sell asics when they arent profitability is very hard or if u cant sell them then u have just rubbish in your property Smiley Please read this topic and be carefully dont jump in traps straightaway Smiley
