If you trust no one then you should probably go back to steam games or x-box where there are no real life consequences.

If you never trust anyone you will never get far in life. You will be a stunted and fearful person, who takes very little risk but likewise gets very little reward. In the context of bitcoin, trust is absolutely vital to a healthy economy as it encourages trade, lending, borrowing, investing and other economic activity.

Same can be said for anything else in the world. Do your due diligence and check a person out, get their info, get background on their business and history and make a decision from that.

Its called responsibility.

You are responsible for your actions and there is no big brother (or big daddy) to reverse your charges.  Know the person you are interacting with, find some way to garner trust in the person you are interacting with -  then be willing to accept the consequences if your choice was a wrong one.  99% of the people trading and interacting on this board are reliable, trust-worthy, honest people (and about 75 % of them treat others with respect).  It's that 1% of scammers who lay in wait for the gullible, to prey on their greed (pirate) or their ignorance and/or real world trust (You send your non-reversible bitcoin first" [ ie. most scammers here and on bitcoinary] that give bitcoin a bad name.

If you trust no one then you should probably go back to steam games or x-box where there are no real life consequences.

People are so use to the age of credit cards and everything being reversible if you get scammed, you don't have this security with bitcoins. Think of it like giving the person cash in hand, but you have no idea who they are or anyway to stop them if they run off with your money.
