This incident should see the authorities and the human rights of action against the person who committed the act, the act is no longer uphold human values, Americans should as a country that upholds human rights, must prosecute the perpetrators of the deed, possession of firearms licenses should be restricted only to certain people alone ... hopefully it can be acted upon by the authorities ...  Cool

And that in part is why some people fled Europe so long ago and created the 2nd Amendment...

I don't know what planet you are on but you are NOT describing the border between Mexico and Texas.

Possession of firearms is not much related to problems of terrorists sneaking across the southern border.

In Mexico, most firearms are illegal but a most curious thing happens.  The gangsters and drug cartels do not follow the law?

I mean, can you imagine?

Judicial Watch Confirms: 4 ISIS Terrorists Arrested In Texas In The Last Two Days

Islamic terrorists have entered the United States through the Mexican border and Homeland Security sources tell Judicial Watch that four have been apprehended in the last 36 hours by federal authorities and the Texas Department of Public Safety in McAllen and Pharr.

JW confirmed this after California Congressman Duncan Hunter, a former Marine Corp Major and member of the House Armed Services Committee, disclosed on national television that at least ten Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) fighters have been caught crossing the Mexican border in Texas. The veteran lawmaker got the astounding intel straight from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Homeland Security agency responsible for guarding the 1,933-mile southern border.

“If you really want to protect Americans from ISIS, you secure the southern border,” Hunter proclaimed on a national cable news show this week. “It’s that simple. ISIS doesn’t have a navy, they don’t have an air force, they don’t have nuclear weapons. The only way that ISIS is going to harm Americans is by coming in through the southern border – which they already have.” The three-term congressmen went on: “They aren’t flying B-1 bombers, bombing American cities, but they are going to be bombing American cities coming across from Mexico.”

Four Terrorists Captured on US Border on September 10 – Day Before 9-11 (Video)

Congressman Jason Chaffetz broke this shocking news Wednesday that four known terrorists were apprehended at the US border in Texas on September 10 – the day before the 13th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks.

Chaffetz questioned Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on whether he is “aware of any apprehensions of suspected or known terrorists.”
Johnson dodged the question.

Tonight, Rep. Chaffetz told Megyn Kelly there were four terrorists arrested crossing the US border in Texas on September 10.

“There were actually four individuals trying to cross through the Texas border, who were apprehended at two different stations, that do have ties to known terrorist organizations in the Middle East.”

Just my opinion, but I don't think there are any people down here who would be sympathetic to Islamic / Muslim looking dudes trying to cross the border.  And that includes Mexicans, US hispanics, cartels and their members, on and on, and that's in a dominantly Democratic area.

You'd have to import a bunch of those fools from the US Northeast or Northwest, or maybe a crop of them from Oakland, before those bad guys would find people looking the other way.
The organized crime cartels do not care about a person's ethnicity when they smuggle someone across the boarder. They will likely provide the same service regardless of what their intentions are or where they come from. The outcome of attempting to cross the boarder illegally is that there is a very good chance they will not make it alive.

I grew up in El Paso. Physically they are pretty much one big city. In the 1980s we used to go over to Juarez quite a bit for shopping and stuff. It is amazing how much the cartels and war on terror has changed things.
My impression it was NAPTA.  You agree?  At least it all started after that, but before the "war on terror".

I didn't really have an issue with the idea behind it. Economic development in places like Mexico and the latin American countries is a good thing for everyone but without the needed infrastructure improvements south of the border and the agricultural markets not performing as expected have created more poverty rather than eliminating it. Criminal elements take advantage of such situations and it tends to spiral out of control.

Back in the 1980's it was no big deal to go over to Juarez and spend a day. We had a good time, spent some money in the shops and businesses owned by the Mexican people and it was good for all involved. Now I would be hesitant to cross the bridge at all. Let alone with my family in tow.
Right.  It used to be fun.  Maybe a few hassles from street kids running minor extortion scams to "watch your car for you."  But even there, I'd kid and joke back and forth with them.

Last time I went across, I was looking at on the US side, 2-3" flak jackets on the guys (AND ON THE DOG) doing duty there.  On the Mexican side, typical federalis with what looked like M16s.  And a jeep with a 50 cal.

Do you still live in El Paso? We lived on the North East side near Parkland High School. When all of this started I wondered how it would affect things there. The last time I was out there you could tell that times had not been good. The North Gate Mall was abandoned and my old neighborhood had become a trailer park.

“If the president or Senator Reid or anyone else tries to tell you that our borders are secure, they are lying to you.”

James O’Keefe as Osama bin Laden crosses border from Mexico to US

http://youtu.be/fB37TCDcZBg

Investigative filmmaker James O’Keefe exposes the U.S.-Mexico border’s vulnerability to terrorism in his latest undercover project, obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller.

O’Keefe’s Project Veritas video reminds viewers of recent statements by the president and Obama administration officials that the southern border is secure. O’Keefe then proceeds to Hudspeth County, Texas, to easily cross back and forth cross the Rio Grande wearing the costume of modern history’s most recognizable terrorist.

“I see no border patrol. I see no security,” O’Keefe said in the video before donning a bin Laden mask. “Thousands of people have stood in my footsteps right now. They’ve come from South America, Honduras, Guatemala, and they’ve all crossed the border. And if they can cross, anybody can cross.”

Notice how "our" president has tiptoed around this shooting of Vega.  Had the events been flipped 180 and 2 US felons ran south of the border and killed a Mexican national agent you can bet their embassy would be screaming at us night and day.

Why are none of the illegal immigration promoters defending these 2 Mexican nationals?  They are the victims! Roll Eyes

The opinion of the public is shaped by the media by painting a picture with agenda.

May be the locals are defending these two Mexican nationals and you don't heard about it on news. The local usually have more facts than someone who don't live even on the same state.

NOBODY down here is defending these criminals.  Remember the dead man is Hispanic also.

It's likely a matter of selective reporting, just reporting on stories that reinforce the desired narrative.

Illegal Immigrants Murder Border Patrol Agent In Texas…

Border Patrol agent Javier Vega Jr.

Two illegal immigrants from Mexico who were charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent in front of his family in Texas have been arrested and deported numerous times, police sources told FoxNews.com.

One suspect has been arrested no fewer than four times for entering the U.S. illegally, according to federal court records. The other has been deported twice after entering the U.S. illegally, sources said.

Gustavo Tijerina, 30, and Ismael Hernandez, 40, were arraigned Tuesday afternoon inside the Willacy County jail library. They were ordered held without bail after being charged with capital murder of a peace officer, attempted murder, and a variety of lesser charges.

The pair, who have been living in Texas illegally, confessed after being interviewed multiple times Monday to killing Border Patrol agent Javier Vega Jr. in front of his wife and two kids and his parents Sunday night while they were fishing in Santa Monica, Sheriff Larry Spence told FoxNews.com.

Probably not, it is more likely that they died from the heat and/or the "elements" while traveling. There are a lot of people that die every year trying to cross the border illegally.

Practically the only people that are regularly shooting and killing people down there are the Mexican drug cartels and gangs.

What is the benefit for killing innocent people?
Small scale, local terror and control.

"Hey buddie...nice looking wife and daughters you got.  Tell you what, you help us, out, I help you out.  You just run this package across the border once a week.  Maybe you do us some other favors.   Otherwise I rape and kill them one at a time."

That's the game, in a nutshell.   Word gets around, the idea is the people become obedient.

For the mules, the runners, a fair number of them do a  number of jobs, then get killed so they can't talk.

And yet it's still more dangerous to cross some streets in Chicago in them middle of the night than it is out there in Texas.  But urban gang violence just isn't "fun" to report on.

You have any article on this issue?

I think he's referring to the insane amount of urban violence in Chicago which is making Compton look like a nursery school.  20 dead over the 4rth of July weekend whereas only one illegal died that weekend in TX (at least only 1 documented death).
Well, yeah but there's easy 20 dead in a weekend just in Juarez, on the Mexico side of El Paso.  It's true that the bloodshed so far has been mainly on the Mexican side.  But keep in mind we're talking here about what often times is just a hundred yards difference.

I don't want to know anything about the other side of the southern border.  If Mexico wants to run a lawless land let them.  We have given them many opportunities to shape up and they choose not to.  They have better weather and resources than Canada and yet they continue to fall behind. Gonna stick my fingers in my ears now...

Believe me I understand that point of view.  But look at it this way.  Fly over El Paso/Juarez, you see one big lump of civilization down there, not two.   That's the way it really is around here.  Going North, it becomes more "U.S.A".  By the time you are two hundred miles north, it is pretty much "U.S.A."

lol.. land purchases are a thing of the past. Now no one can purchase sovereign land. You can only invade and annex.
There is no formal problem for land purchase or exchange between subjects of international law, but new status should be ratified by both sides of such deal. USSR tried this way to establish buffer zone, but their land exchange proposal was rejected by Finland. Some of unilateral measures have been applied as the result, which led to the war between Finland and the USSR.

Is that possible as per the US constitution?
Even if we assume that the US constitution works now, it's not a word of God. It could be amended to grant a special status for the buffer state, and this will work quite well. For examples you can see to the China with their concept of special administrative regions.

Lesson learned:  Don't mess with Finland.

1. Buy, exchange or simply annex the 50 km strip of land adjacent to the border.

lol.. land purchases are a thing of the past. Now no one can purchase sovereign land. You can only invade and annex.

2. Deport a local population from there, but only if that's necessary.

That might result in the deportation of millions of people, as many of the Mexican mega cities, such as Tijuana, Mexicali, Ciudad Juarez and Reynosa falls within this buffer zone.

3. Create a new federal subject there, but with special status. Establish a special military committee to govern this buffer state. Military cometee should be given a right to establish any type of political system there, without direct influence from the federal government.

Is that possible as per the US constitution?

4. Impose strict rules for crossing the southern and northern boundaries of the territory. Strip the most of federal taxes on this territory for the next 20 years.

With the current Democrat rule, any sort of border control is not only discouraged, but scorned as well.

1. Buy, exchange or simply annex the 50 km strip of land adjacent to the border.

3. Create a new federal subject there, but with special status. Establish a special military committee to govern this buffer state. Military cometee should be given a right to establish any type of political system there, without direct influence from the federal government.

If your neighbouring state turns unstable entity then you have to force them to reach at least some kind of stability... Doesn't matter democratic or not. Because having borders with unstable state is a first step to achieve the same problem on your side of the border.

Shiiit!

Mexico is similar to a war zone and it's spreading to Central America the cause probably is the US War on Drugs and now there's a lot of refugees they don't want to take, serious humanitarian crisis there...
Modern Texas seems like bigger version of pre-1991 Chechnya... I.e. import of instability from the neighboring region with uncontrolled flow of illegal migrants.

That ship sailed a long time ago when the Mexican military became overpowered by the drug cartels.  They wanted their own autonomy (even before Fox) in running their drug war instead of coordinating with the US.  So of course the whole thing went to poop and now the CIA is doing God knows what and the "country" south of us is just a bunch of cities that speak Spanish.

Mexico is similar to a war zone and it's spreading to Central America the cause probably is the US War on Drugs and now there's a lot of refugees they don't want to take, serious humanitarian crisis there...

The cause is clearly stated in the article. War on drugs ragging for 30 years.. That new wave since 2012...

I don't read tabloids...

And yet you participate in this tabloid thread. Thank you, by the way. Any reply, positive or not is welcome on my zero banning policy threads Smiley

The link could be a tabloid, of course. The video is not.

The dead body on that article, are they being hunted down?

Practically the only people that are regularly shooting and killing people down there are the Mexican drug cartels and gangs.

Modern Texas seems like bigger version of pre-1991 Chechnya... I.e. import of instability from the neighboring region with uncontrolled flow of illegal migrants.

This is accurate, the geographical size of the lawless areas is expanding.

In Mexico, the areas that are like war zones as far as I recall are only those next to the borders.

Some of my friends here (illegals) have told me they are not going back to Mexico because it's too dangerous.  Car hijackings, armed robberies, up to 100 miles south of the border.

Texas and the other border states can handle these issues, but the Washington crowd does not even understand them and puts a politics wrapper over the problems.

Who killed this people, the militia or the border guards? Why they are being shot?
Generally, people that die crossing our southern border die from not having water.

Militia here do not ever shoot them.

Border guards never shoot unless it's a firefight, like with a drug gang.

Ranchers who own the land never shoot except in self defense.

The drug gangs kill very large numbers of people, check for example Juarez.

Shocking images show corpses of illegal immigrants left to die after border crossings

Rancher shares grotesque photos with MailOnline, saying Obama bears the blame for a rising death toll among illegal immigrants

Volunteer patrol network in south Texas has found 259 bodies in one county alone, maybe 20 percent of the actual body count

Border Patrol source concedes the agency has no idea how many are perishing between the border and official government checkpoints

Filmmaker says he warned Congress in 2007 that children were becoming drug cartels' newest pawns on the border

This is a very serious issue, and the solution is not to build a "Berlin Wall" in the States, as has been done now.

It's really fascinating to see how average Americans are fun of weapons and like to play rule of sheriff like in the movie.
But, doesn't matter how much they are trying, it seems they can't stop this desperate people from Mexico to enter in USA in the search for better life.

I think the situation in Mexico needs to improve, the people wouldn't come then.  I mean, we put a production line all the way in China, why not in Mexico? It would save the State a lot of costs.

It DOES help to read the article people. The images I place are just baits to help you click on the links provided :-)

The closest U.S. Border Patrol station, at Falfurrias, Texas, is about 4-1/2 miles from Vickers' 1,000-acre ranch.
An official in the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency confirmed that in the month of June more than 4,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended at or near that checkpoint.
About 82 per cent of them were so-called 'OTM' border crossers – 'Other Than Mexican.'
More than 400 were children
.

NOW I'm confused, and I know that area.  That's no desert.  Semi Arid, perhaps, not no desert.

Why would they be dying around there?  IF they were people that had no clue how to live off the land, how to find water, etc., the very basics, then yeah, it'd be dangerous.  From Central America climate?

Play the video next time. Read the full article next time. You will understand it is not about "playing" but life and death situations. Mostly death. But I did place that AR image to get reactions like yours, so I cannot complain...  Wink

Because China's China and Mexico is Mexico.

Don't make fun of these guys carrying weapons.  We've been carrying weapons in those areas for hundreds of years for good reasons.  Very few people carry for "fun" because the things get heavy after a while...The johnny-soldier-wanna-bes are in the police forces, not in the ranchers lands.

I sure hope the Ebola virus doesn't make it through the southern border or you're going to have an epidemic going back to the dark ages.

Don't forget: some will be willing to bring it voluntary as a suicide mission...
