Lucifer translates as light-bearing. This is the name of the nearest archangel of the Lord. it is not surprising that he was given such a name. It's amazing that people are looking for a dirty trick.

I do not know I've never visited the vatican. Even if it is true Maybe this world is doomsday.

The funny thing is, it looks like they intentionally named the telescope that way to end up with the "LUCIFER" acronym. Even though the vatican is claimed to be some sort of "holy place", it has always been shady to me.

EDIT: The telescope is actually called "Large Binocular Telescope (LBT)" not LUCIFER. It's name being LUCIFER is just a controversy. Do your research boys.

Ironicly Lucifer was the most beautiful angel in all god´s celestial court and he was the one who betrayed him, it´s a bad joke called this telescope as the angel who betrayed god.

Who knows? Haha we all know how tricky it is when it comes to religions and gods the never ending debate. People gives their opinion trying to provide a proof. It doesn't matter anymore if its true or not because what is not true to you no matter what they say it would always be true to you that is how human thinks.

That symbol is really from the origin of god and lucifer is a part of that and it has a lot of meanings

I applaud you for understanding this high level truth of Christianity.  a lot of Christians have not considered this point and I think this is an esoteric truth.

i get this from the Bible; the tree of knowledge imparted understanding to man. that greater understanding of ones nature is what got Adam and Eve kicked out of the Garden (and rank disobediance:) ). we werent intended to live independent of God's will, it seems. or another way of looking at it; wisdom makes man lose his savage "grace" and become accountable for his actions, unlike the beasts of the world (whos actions are beyond reproach, we dont get mad at wolves eating sheep)

with that being said, wisdom is the currency we are encouraged to cultivate, as it is the only thing we can take with us to the afterlife. i think this might be where the difference between wisdom and knowledge comes in: wisdom to me is gleaned knowledge with personal schema, whereas knowledge is more the pursuit of information for its own sake. like knowing how to fish, vs knowing the scientific name of the fish you just hooked. similar to the difference between data and information.

Christianity, admittedly, is hard.

Its not really wise for a Christian religion to have a anything with that name especially the vatican, The Catholics are a very secretive people and i believe they know more about Christianity than the entire church knows since they are the oldest Christian Church.

Anyway, worry not! Fake news all over. Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT) should not be confused with the one you've mentioned which is in Arizona USA. I think the people who spread the news of LUCIFER(the telescope) being based in Vatican obviously had other ill motives.

Lucifer is the name given to the angel that fell from god's grace, he then became satan or the devil. Lucifer means bringer of light so it is rather fitting that a telescope looking at stars is named Lucifer.

So i was going through some comments on a Facebook post & found something interesting... Someone commented about a Telescope in the Vatican called Lucifer. I immediately searched it on Google and it was indeed true.
The Telescope is called LUCIFER (Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Spectroscopic Utility with Camera & Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research). I began to wonder why they choose such acronym. Is that all they can find that is befitting f a Vatican?
What is wrong with the World though. Doesn't look like a joke me to me.

It reminds me of a human sacrifice that was caught at CERN(the large Particle collider office) few months ago at 1AM  in front of some weird sculpture.
Though they claimed it was a prank but doing a prank in such an important facility makes no sense.
We all need to be very Vigilant.
