No need to be butthurt and ironic. Replace "real" with "traditional if that suits you.
You are free to collect crypto tokens if you like them.
Personally I prefer to collect items that saw some kind of real historical use. From my point of view it makes not much sense to collect items that were produced for the primary purpose of being a collectible.
For me, engaging in real (or "traditional") numismatics is a interesting form of time traveling and teaches a lot about monetary history. It's a story of economics, power and propaganda condensed in a small format you can grasp. Especially as a Bitcoin advocate it's a great pleasure to closely explore the material monetary dynamics of the past and learn from them.
Little late here but...no butt hurt. I collected “traditional” fiat before knowing of BTC and still do. I’m an extremely random collector. I love JFK anything , colonial notes, confederate bills (historical reminder of racist POS’s), random proofed American Eagles, Chinese Pandas, Lincoln anything, German Nazi Coins, Denarius, etc etc. I fully understand the importance of studying and remembering history.
You however seem to not realize you’re on a website created by Satoshi Nakamoto, a person/group/alien who started a global phenomenon/revolution. IMO they’ll be credited for doing more for mankind and positive progression than most presidents ever will or have. History happens every day man and if you support bitcoin and history then Casascius, Lealana, Kialara etc should tickle your fancy a little. Rocks, Shells, Gold, Silver, fiat, cryptocurrency. See what I’m getting at here ?
No I don't realize that I'm on a website created by Satoshi Nakamoto. The reason is simple: bitcointalk.org was not created by Satoshi Nakamoto.
The aspects you bring up seem pretty random to me. I don't see how they relate to the topic of collecting historical objects of everyday use vs. collecting objects created solely for the collector market.
Maybe you want to say that because of religious Satoshi worship and the supreme power of Bitcoin the only items allowed to be offered at this marketplace are Bitcoin tokens...
Because the offer is no longer active, this thread is now locked.
