No sure how to get started or how to buy tokens, how many total tokens will be ever and how supply will increase?

On this link you can start: https://realms-of-ether.github.io/

After you log into metamask just go on the game tab and you can buy yourself a fortress there for 0.01 ETH.

So plan is to launch your own token in game or what is crypto ecomony in this project?

This game looks way more interesting than every single other game on the ETH blockchain right now. As soon as the network fees are lower I'll get myself a fortress.

Will you update us on development progress on a weekly basis?

So you have to pay 0.01ETH for playing this game? I don't even see a picture, so it didn't attract me.

I bought a couple of fortresses yesterday. All good so far. You need to fix the english on the auction place:
"Steps in 0.1 ether If already bid, it increases your bid". I dont really know what it means.

You also write "How many fortresses are available? The first limit is 1000. After some testing I will enable the minting feature, which releases a new fortress every 15 minutes.".

I think it's impostant to have a game plan ready, and by the looks of it, you already started this. But doing this Cryptokittie style aint gonna work, unless the price goes up for every fortress bought, of course.
If you keep a flat fee (i.e. 0.01 eth) for every Fortress built, people will stay on the fence and not start up until they see that other has started. Therefor it will never take off.

And yes: I enjoy so far. Cant wait for more features! Smiley

Thank you for your input!

Steps in 0.1 ether means, that if the highest bid is 1.2 ether you must bid 1.3 ether.
If already bid, it increases your bid means, that if you already bid 0.7 ether and then bid 1.0 ether, your total bid equals 1.7 ether, so you outbid 1.6 ether and below.

I havent started the minting right now. The beta phase ends after the first 1000 fortresses are owned and when the testing is finished.

Not keeping a flat fee could be a important feature to keep the value of the fortresses. As it is only fixed for the first 1000 ones, it will change in the future.
I am not sure about the rate it changes. Maybe it increases every 1000 fortresses about 0.01 ether, so the first 1000 costs 0.01 the next 1000 0.02 and so on.

If someone has other ideas, let me know Smiley

The client will be updated with the next feature.

And great that you are having fun!

Each fortress represents a token. Unlike other token e.g. the ERC20 tokens, this token is non-fungible

There will be a standard ERC721 to exchange those tokens (in this case fortresses),
more information here: https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/issues/721

As soon as the standard is finalized, I will upgrade the contract, so it will be implemented.

At first thanks for your support,

I looked at the transaction log of the contract and the transaction was successful,
Have you tried reloading the page? On the main network it can take a while, some
of my transactions took more than 20 minutes, others only 1-2.

I experienced an issue with web3.js sometimes not reacting to events, but after a reload
everything was fine again.

Edit: Sorry this bug was my fault! I fixed another one and updated the client with the
address of my test network, It should work in a few minutes!

will a currency be implemented for the game to buy fortress or whatnot and then the game currency can be exchanged for ETH?

Awesome idea, sounds super fun! Smiley great job.. ill keep an eye on this thread. Looking forward for the next updates, can i join the beta?

Thanks for your interrest!

You need the metamask plugin to connect the app with your wallet, then browse https://realms-of-ether.github.io/ and then click on game in the navigation.

You can purchase a fortress for 0.01 ether, I made this fee that no one claims all 1000 fortresses for no reason, which would end in a failure of the beta.

Tried to create a fortress or to bid but seems like metamask doesn't kick in.. no notification :/

Realms of Ether is a like a old browser game.
Looks intriguing, do you have any screenshots of the game in action?

Yes sure!

Here is a fortress overview, if you own it buttons to interact appear!

it seems very interesting, more games that use blockchain technology will be more fun. because it does not make us saturated with all activities, especially by playing a strategy that will further sharpen our brain as well as cryptocurrency

Cool! I have been playing strategy games on different platforms for years, starting with Red Alert. The most recent one was Grepolis. Can't wait to give a blockchain based strategy game a try.

Realms of Ether is a like a old browser game.

At first you can have one or more fortresses. Each fortress has its own place on the map.
With time the map expends, so more fortresses can be owned by the users.

Right now the beta phase is live, so I limited the amount to 1000. Testing on a private blockchain
finished yesterday, so this deployed version is here to stay, with all your fortresses.

The beta version includes:

  • Create your own fortress with a name (automaticly positioned on the map, coming first means a position near the center of the map)
  • Expand your kingdown creating or buying new fortresses
  • Mining resources: They will be used for building out your fortress and recruting troups
  • Level up your buildings: you will get more resources, recruting more troups
  • Building your army: 2 Dragons are live right now, other troups like magician or knights will be added
  • Sell your fortress for Ether: You can start an auction, which will last 3 days, the highest bidder wins!

Features to come

  • A map of all fortresses: who is your neighbour? should you cooperate? (Only needs work on the client, contract functionallity is working)
  • Fighting each other: A round based strategic combat system (Troups already have attributes, the contract is prepared for this feature, but it needs some feedback what the users want from it)

Hello folks,

I am developing a blockchain based strategy game. This will be open source, so everyone can participate.
It is called Realms of Ether.

The basic functionality is already working. You can create a new fortress, level up your buildings, farm resources
and recrute troups. There is also an auction platform where you can sell or buy fortresses.
Each fortress has its own position on the map, which will be expanded every 15 minutes after the official launch.

The client is right now in beta, so you can be excited to see new features like a map of the world, better graphics,
round based fighting and much more.

Here is a link where you can play right now: https://realms-of-ether.github.io/

There is a FAQ on the landing page, but if you have more questions I will answer them.

This is my first blockchain project going live and I'm going to share my experiences on the blog.

If you find bugs or have a feature request use the github issues, this will help everybody to enjoy a better
gaming experience.
