I think if you are not backing up your wallet, then you will lose the wallet along with the contents of the wallet, I recommend for now have to make a new wallet, and store keys and passwords on a gadget or laptop, in blockchain.info you can make a lot of bitcoin wallet to hold the address you will receive ...  Roll Eyes

Hi I bought a new computer and I have downloaded the blockchain.
I backed up my wallet so I still have my bitcoins but my regular receiving address is gone.
Can I get it back or is it gone forever?

I have some pending with microwallet and they will probably send it to my old receiving address, will I still receive them if they do? Thanks

you need to check if you replace you old wallet to a new one turn off and turn back on or just refresh to check if yo can find you new address or if not might be your old address...

According to the post #3 by OP, it is clear that he was loading the old wallet.dat file as he had all his bitcoin showing up without any problem. So it is impossible that he has replaced his old wallet with a newly created one.

Dont export your keys!

Your wallet has all it needs, but apparently your backup is a bit older. If you let it make "new" receiving addresses your old one should show up.

Bitcoin core has 100 addresses pre generated by default, which are not shown at first. If you backup from an old wallet.dat just klick the new button in the receiving address window for a few times.

btc core creates new  addres for every new payment you get. just check that you can use one addres and you'll see the list of your old addresses

if you have your old wallet file then it should be already there
also if you have private key of your receiving address then you can import that into wallet and get your receiving address back

You could use the console and try to export the private key.
If your wallet shows it to you then you have not to worry and you can use this address even though it is now shown in the GUI.

have you replaced the new wallet created on the new pc with the old wallet from the old PC.

usually if you have replaced the wallet while bitcoin-core is open, it wont show new addresses. you may have to close then reopen (ensuring bitcoin-core is not in task manager inbetween (fully closed)

do you still have access to the old PC to manually (pen and paper) write out the private keys to then manually put into the new PC.

Hi thanks for the reply, yes I replaced the new wallet with my old one (from the old PC) before I started downloading the blockchain. (then did a -rescan).
It has given me all of my bitcoins. I have not lost any. But only 1 receiving address shows up now (a new one) that I have not used before.
It's strange that my regular receiving address has disappeared but my bitcoins are still there.
For a test I sent a bitcoin to the address I have always used. It says "payment to yourself" in my transaction history. But I didn't receive the test amount
