As far as i know the DNS servers are breached not the system of mew, which makes it wrong to tag those people behind the mew, using metamask extension would be the best thing to have + the hardwallet it is what i am using for about 6months which looks very effective as it isnt going to allow phishing sites and malwarebytes to be installed.

Not the mew itself, but the DNS server which are used to the main website of myetherwallet.com ,the hacker seems to be the same people who hacked forkdelta which has the same tactics. That is why it was compromised, those people who lose their coins are definitely going lose all of their assets.

Metamask is not secure at all, you can have a keylogger or a rat and all your tokens are gonna be gone because of that. Not your keys, not your crypto - Just buy a hardware wallet and all your problems are gonna be solved.

Be carefull with your money, if you want to be save please use metamask instead. Or even buy some hardware wallet like ledger to store your ethereum and all erc20 token in it. Also never click a spam email in your spam box t could be another phsing attempt or even rat.
LOL,metamask is very secured, you wont need to put your private keys when you have the metamask.Dont talk sometime that you might now know how it works.Secured wallets wont get breached if the owner are responsible,do not use any web or app wallet if you dont want to get hacked because these wallets are more prone to these hackers.

I need to correct you. Myetherwallet is ok, no hacks happened on it.  Google publik DNS got breached. Big difference.
You can see it as a phishing, so check your URL and use Cryptonite add on, or legit Metamask.
Safe way of using MEW is with offline version.

Awesome post. I dropped a comment and also gave you an upvote. Wallet security should continually be preached both to newbies and oldies as well. The incident is a sad and unfortunate one.

Good share which it would be beneficial for those who are complete noobs towards wallet protection or awareness. From the article itself it does emphasized about Phishing attempts which is common nowadays. If you aren't too skeptical into things then most likely you would really fall into these traps. On the recent DNS hacking, if you aren't aware on any news and you logged in into that time then expect your wallet is already compromised.Always have a habit on reading up news and peoples cautions.
