Another reason governments will try to block BTC. Here (Australia) it's extremely hard if not impossible to have a prepaid or (for more obvious reasons) a contract phone without some kind of ID entered into the system. For example even a throwaway prepaid SIM card that costs a few dollars requires a name, address and drivers license number. They also sometimes require things like credit card number, tax file number and so on. Now it is possible to surpass these restrictions using fake details and through other ways. But these usually require the person to use cash in store which is not really the best solution (security cameras, a pattern of the physical stores purchased from, etc.) BTC offers a solution here, not by itself but used with other methods can become quite powerful. Anyone have thoughts on this?
