Virtual Villagers is pretty nice and casual

Ah yeah. It's been so long, I forgot about that little game. Thanks for reminding me.

Such games are a pathetic waste of life
Travian was first I guess

What do you mean by waste of life?

Licking my boob since 1970
EVE Online.  You can set up to mine an asteroid then walk away for a few minutes.

I'll have a try soon. I love the space(ship) theme but from what I've seen on the trailers there's not much I can do while idle.

The trailers are going to show you the Player vs Player, since that is what most people are interested in.

But everything in the game is manufactured.  You need to harvest the resources, refine them, then manufacture components and finally build ships.

SOMEONE has to do the harvesting and manufacturing.  You can do a good portion of it AFK.

Not to mention the "skill" system - it is all done in real time with no interaction from you.  You just queue up the skills you want (when I played you could do it 24 hours in advance) and walk away.

Very interesting! I never thought about video games like that... Like an autonomous game where you do a few inputs a day and watch it evolve on its own? A new gender is born...

I think you mean genre.  Wink

Anyone got any recommendation on this kind of games? Something like Universe Sandbox 2 or Species: ALRE would be nice. But anything decent would be fine as long as it fits the criteria.

Made Self-Moderated only to delete any foolish posts that recommends action/fps/rts games that needs me to be in front of the screen all the time.
