I use Asus Prime Z270-A and Asus STRIX Z270F GAMING with both 6 cards  (both have 7 pci-e slots and 2 m2 connectors) So there is room to get more cards

We have two MSI Z170 Gaming M5 motherboards, both with 7 GPUs, one AMD and one Nvidia based. I vastly prefer a motherboard that is designed for mining with 6 GPUs right from the start. Asrock supposedly has some in the works, but right now the only current models that I'm aware of are from Biostar. Biostar TB85, TB250 BTC, and B350 BTC are all designed for 6 GPU mining and are more or less plug and play, more stable also in my experience.

I have built successful 6 card rigs using both RX580 and GTX 1070s with the following motherboards in the past two weeks:

Asrock Fatal1ty B250 Gaming K4

Asus Prime Z270-P

Asus Prime Z270-A

P.S. Stay away from the MSI B250 Gaming M3 - I could not get it to work with more than 3 cards without serious issues.

I don't think they make those Asrock mobos anymore, but what board do you guys recommend for a 5-6 videocard setup?
GIGABYTE X79 Ultra Durable motherboard. Can be recommended. But Try searching for another source of information.

I was thinking that or a newer MSI z170 setup with a basic i3. Everyone and their brother is going to say search for more information but i'm more interested in peoples first hand experiences in a board they would actually recommend. That's how we did each other years ago before this new crowd of people showed up.
