I have an electrum wallet with a small amount of btc in a linux mint virtual machine that is not booting for some reason. I can do a recovery boot with no GUI and have access to all of the files, however.

Question:

Can I install electrum to a new instance of linux mint and copy the electrum files from my old installation into the new installation to regain access to my wallet. The reason I cant do a restore is that I lost the paper with the seed. I do know my password, however.

Yes.

Please advise if this is doable, and if there is a way to identify only the files I need to transfer from the old installation to restore a specified wallet.

Thanks very much to whoever replies.

You only need the wallet file, it can be saved anywhere, but the default location for electrum (1.9.8 and possibly 2.x) is

/home/your_user_name/.electrum
