It’s always advised to keep your recovery phrase in a safe location and it’s could be in a hard drive or backup in email but in a case where the email details is lost I don’t think the wallet can be recovered unless by some miracle you where able to recover the email, then the chances of getting back the wallet.
I encountered such with my Blockchain account was only able to get back my wallet when I successfully got back my email.

Nah all the wallet I use before I leave it empty so I don't think I need to revisit the wallet again since I know that it doesnt have any balance. I only check my ETH wallet since I have many shit tokens there collected from different campaogn that can possibly give me money someday , hopefully.
Yup, I also found two of those. One Ethereum wallet was empty, the other one had a few thousand of worthless tokens. Can't even remember where I got them from. It was Nolly and Kakushin tokens. Have no idea how or when I acquired them, searched them up but they are worthless and in no exchanges whatsoever.

I'm a senior, and just discovered 2 separate slips of what looks like a cash register receipt . They have the long string of digits on them, and a warning not to show them to anyone . I don't have any account anywhere ,just these slips of paper that I got out of a bitcoin machine . I remember holding one up to my phone to pay for services ,but that was several years ago.  Is there an easy way to see if I still have bitcoin remaining ?

I have 2 blockchain wallet accounts. Last month I tried to recover them and I recovered one of them and it was empty. But the one I have some Bitcoins I couldn't. The interesting thing is I have 2 blockchain wallets attached to 1 email that I own. I didn't save the recovery phase of wallets. I have wallet-ID but I cannot remember the password. And in order to reset the password, I should enter the recovery phrase. But I have access to my email and I have wallet-ID and I still cannot recover.

Nearly three years ago, I recovered portable electrum with ~0.04 BTC. It wasn't any life changing, but I was enough to put a smile on my face when I convert it into beers Cheesy
Ha, I see, I had logged in on one of my older online Bitcoin wallets, it was Xapo if I remember correctly, had about 0.05 Bitcoin which I had cashed out and converted into cash, back when the price had reached the all-time high of $20.000 a few years ago.

Returned to Bitcointalk after a while, and was going to put this question here!  Grin
I also recovered a BTC electrum wallet that I had, and had forgotten the password.  Had a seed, but that wasn't the wallet that I was looking seed, so decided using btcrecover, it is easy and friendly to use. I was unsure if it was a typo or the tokens were exchanged, so just listed the tokens and started the btcrecover.py. It would have taken 1h to complete, but suddenly I tried a password and it worked. It was a typo from me. The wallet had a minor sum, but its satisfactory to recover it!

Yeap. In the 2017 bull run I dug through my old files and found an old .txt file from 2016 with a 12-word recovery seed in it(stupid idea, I know, but this was way back when I started out). Lo and behold, I found 0.01 BTC.

Weird that until now I don't even have the slightest idea where I got that 0.01 and it's been 5 years but I'm still extremely curious.

After being away for quite some time from the Bitcoin scene, I spent a while browsing the forum. I noticed that there were quite a few people trying to recover old wallets they used to own back in the days.

So I thought to myself, what if I also have an abandoned wallet?
After digging through old email addresses I no longer use, I managed to recover three Blockchain wallets, two of them were empty, but one of them had a small amount of Bitcoin!

I know it isn't much, but it felt good. Have you had any similar experiences?
