I read this suggestion before (but didn't bookmark the link), so I'll reproduce it: Could it be you wrote the words in a different order:
Say:
1 2
3 4
5 6
7 8
And now you're going 1 3 5 7 ...... 2 4 6 8 ......?

This is what i did  Grin

Just wanted to add that you should be very careful now. Bad guys will read your post here, too, and may try to scam you. If anyone offers you help eg. per PM requesting you to send him the seed, dont reply and stay away.
This!
And @OP also report them, report the PM you received to moderators and make the info public. DT members will take care of the rest and tag them as potential scammers!

i think some of the words (2 or 3) are not in the right order.....

You need to think back to the time when you backed up these words and remember what you did that changed the order and try to have some idea about which words you changed. Like this user. Then it would be easy to write a simple code to check the variations and find the correct seed phrase. Basically anything you can think of that can reduce the number of possibilities and come up with an algorithm.

Although I've never used it myself, I think that you'll have to try recovering with seedrecover (from btcrecover) ; from my research, that's what others also recommend.
I assume that you know at least a couple of addresses from that wallet...

I know it's not Electrum and i know all the words are right but i think some of the words (2 or 3) are not in the right order.....

I have tried the bip39 tool on an offline pc and it says invalid mnemonic but all the words are bip39 words.

I have a 24 word bip39 seed and all the words are in the bip39 word list.
Somehow it is not a valid bip39 seed, i think the checksum fails.

I have tried to replace words with similar looking words from the list, no help.
MOst of words combination are not valid, even if all words are valid.

The seed is from a Nano S.

Any advice or script to check for errors in the seed?

How was your seed generated?Did you bought ledger from official retailer? Did the seed came written in a piece of paper or did you generate it when you turned your ledger on the first time?
Please give us more information. Your seed may be incorrect.

You can try to recover it in Electrum (Electrum.org) or iancoleman tool, as poordeveloper mentioned.

Please note entering your seed anywhere but in your device you will basically remove all the security from it.
This is correct. Also, anyway you should create a new wallet with a new seed even if you manage to recover your funds.

Edit: Are you sure this seed is from a ledger nano? Electrum uses a different algorithm, and it is not bip39. Your seed may work in Electrum if that is the case.

What did you use to recover the seed? https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ is a web-based solution, and Electrum another alternative.

Is the seed still in your Nano S? https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000609933-Lost-device-PIN-code-or-recovery-phrase

Please note entering your seed anywhere but in your device you will basically remove all the security from it.
