Well you might as well start bitcoin-qt running on its own either way, if electrum can't import the private key for some reason you'll want to sweep it in bitcoin-qt
Limited options to control how it interacts with QT on Mac. At least I know the coins are confirmed at an adress and I have the information to get at it.. eventually.. I'm sure Armory support will be able to sort this out.

PS -- whatever you do, don't give your private key to someone who promises to help you redeem it.
Are you running bitcoin-qt separately or under armory? Try running it on its own and let it fully sync and then in armory settings tell it you're running bitcoin-qt on your own. You can also sweep the private key into bitcoin-qt once it syncs.
That would be ideal. It hangs up at the last minute and eventually crashes. There seems to be an issue with the clock not being set to local time causing this, however, that's not the case with me. It does show zero blocks connected the entire time it's doing its thing.. I have an email out to support.

I would just fix armory -- what problem is it having?
I have a text file that I could access without Armory completing its startup that shows me the PrivBase58 and PrivHexBE of the address listed above. assuming I screwed up before (which is a reasonable assumption), what should I do with that information?
Are you sure you extracted the correct private key? It should work just fine.

I see that the coins are at that address. I don't think I understand the way the technology works nearly well enough. I have coins at the address.. The address was created using Armory.. Armory will not open to access the funds or send them to a functioning wallet.. Is Armory necessary to get the coins to another address if I have the public and private keys? I imported the keys to Electrum, but that doesn't seem to have done anything since the block chain won't recognize imported keys?

I originally sent them to an Armory wallet, but that won't open or finish preparing the database, so I have no way of sending the coins from where they were sent.
