Hi Zoltan,
i saw your entry today about manual recovering your hacked account zzaza .

Code:
January 10, 2019, 05:14:27 PM - zzaza - manual recovery, ownership change queued
Seclog: https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php

I also had a hacked account and waiting for recovery process that i have all the proves of ownership.
Two days ago i received an email informing me that my message was successfully verified and that my account will be restored to the old email + a link that recorded my ip after submitting it. No further!

my opened thread in meta: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.43039520

I would like to ask you if you received a similar email and how much time t tooks you to appear in the seclog or did you receive any further emails?

Thank you

Friendly bump to you, hope Cyrus & Theymos notice it ASAP. I also feel the urge to recover my hacked one as well.

btw, I just leave feedback your account zzaza (however not sure if my current rank makes any difference) once you manage to recover your account you'll have to sign another message to confirm it, so I can remove my red trust.

I believe starting a red trust campaign on those hacked accounts who has been reported + verified successfully will cause a significantly harm on those scammers who bought your hacked account for spamming / shady purposes.

I finally got my account back, gonna close this thread, please remove the negative trust you added, thanks Smiley Gonna post in few minutes (same IP delay) from my original account too , to confirm.

Many DT-members already tag hacked accounts, but there's no point in doing this when the account is locked already:
i locked it so no one can use it.

I have the same problem... I just find out yesterday that my account was hacked, already started this process.. no idea how long it gonna take.
Very disappointing seeing this lack of support from the admins, honestly don't know what to do...

Be prepared for months if not years...

There is nothing special about that thread. In fact, an unedited post from years ago is worth more than a recent post quoted by someone else. Even better if your old post is in a locked thread since no further risk from a hacker editing it. Any of these would do.

OP delivered the proof asked by the mods (valid signature from an address posted in a valid post). Now the ball is on their court, and im afraid the ball will stay there since they can't be bothered to speed up this process. Just another soul lost in the limbo of hacked accounts, forever bumping their own threads to no end.

Agreed. What annoys me, that i am to blame for this. When the passwords were leaked from bitcointalk, i got a notification too, but that time i did not use the forum, so i didn't bother to change it, and when i got active again, i totally forgot about it... I am just surprised they didnt "hack" it earlier, but i guess they were just reading my PM's and so on, and realised there is nothing special there Smiley

Only posting the address is not gonna help I guess. You need the singed message from Stake your Bitcoin address here topic. If you have not done it before then I am afraid your road is going to be very hard and the worse case will be losing your account for good. If you are the hacker then you can easily change the contents (including BTC address) of the above URLs. So only posting them actually do not prove that you are the real account owner.

Zoltan messaged me on Primedice from his Zoltan account and asked me to post here confirming his identity. Given that his PD account has had 2FA/extra security measures I believe that this is a legitimate recovery claim. 2FA on bitcointalk has been discussed for years but it would be great to finally see it.

thanks for vouching for me! let's hope i can get my account back. Smiley

I am a moderator at Primedice.com, and can have others vouching for me. We had giveaways organized here with this account too and so on. I am open to prove in any way that i am the real owner and not the hacker Smiley Unfortunately i never posted any address in that topic, was not aware of it... I still hope i can get it back eventually.
I did not know all of these however after reading LoyceV, you sure are the real owner. Now we have all set up for you. Good luck on getting back the account.

but you can archive them for other users...,
I had the same thought but did not advise it because somewhere on the forum I read that an archive can also be edited. If my memory serves me right then I am quite sure it came from an well-known member.

Thanks for verifying.
You are welcome.

You're partially wrong: any posted address can be used as proof of ownership, it doesn't necessarily have to be in the Stake your Bitcoin address topic.
A hacker could indeed edit old posts, but you can archive them for other users, and Admin can see deleted or edited posts. Then again, OP says the account has been locked, so deleting posts isn't a risk.

I hereby confirm I've verified the message, and checked the posts where the address was posted. It all checks out.

Hello,

I am waiting since last year november to get my account back. After it had been hacked, i locked it so no one can use it. I have sent several messages to the admins, following the process stated by theymos. Please help to recover, it is a legendary account. Thank you!
