The most worrying aspect of this trend lately, is the reluctance of default trust to self regulate. This specific example of trust abuse is inarguably damaging to the forum. It presents several key challenges, and many insoluble problems for bitcointalk.
There is a self perpetuating force here, that drives the concentrated cluster of corrupt default trust members together into a self interested critical mass. Those that are not tightly bound within the core only have 3 choices: Support the actions of the core or turn a blind eye alternatively face ostracism and eventual expulsion. We have records of previous PM from the core demanding action that confirms this process.
Far from creating a decentralized form of self regulating leadership / governance. The current system guarantees tyrannical core of abusers. These grow ever emboldened with each new successful (unanswered) abuse of dissenting members accounts.
This in turn solidfies the cores control and influence over time. I note the abuse in terms of it's openly ruthless implementation is increasing to intolerable levels.
The member tecshare was recently threatened in public with more intense abuse for questioning the validity of the red warning tags applied to his own 8yr old account with a flawless trading history?
He was told he was given the red tag for being a c*nt and he would be shown 'real abuse' and that he should close his trust abuse investigative thread down at once.
This would have been unacceptable here previously.
This appears the be the same individual that has claimed that my knowing too much too quickly is reason enough for my own red tag.
I raise the question to theymos and DT members as to why this is permissible?
The decentralized experiment has reached it's conclusion theymos. You must be seen to take sensible steps to resolve this. The removal of red tags and rigid guide to base flag support (another area of weakness) is the best suggestion the board has given.
What is causing the delay? This is an interesting question that has not been answered.
