Thank you very much. Alot of people on here do think, including myself, that the games and rounds section was the only place to add such a thread. I do apologize in the thread for the post if it wasn't suppose to be there and asked that it be moved with upmost respect for the forum. I do think though since they are alot of users of the forum that ask for such a place to exist so it can "weed out" posts like that, mine for example. I do think this will help alot with referral spam that does appear on the forums and will help the moderators do their job with more ease. Thanks again for the comments and feedback. I will put it to use if nobody else does.

Is there a place for a referral section if the member(s) want to use it? For example, if I wanted to open a thread of my btcjam referral address, is this allowed in any section of the forum? Games and Rounds maybe? I know that referral posts in other sections is a bannable offense and I do not want to post any type of bannable material on the forums since it is already "Cloudy" enough. Thanks for all the responses.

There are no sections where you are allowed to solely post your referal link. That falls under referal spam, and will be removed. You can include your referal link in posts assuming the post is on topic to begin with, it is a quality post, you did not create the thread to post your referal, and the referal link is not unsolicited. Hidden referals are also frowned upon. So I'll give you an example.

You want to post your btcjam referal link:

Someone creates a thread asking for information about btcjam, say about security, safety of giving a loan, measures in which they prevent fraud, etc etc. You then respond to the OP's question in a constructive way addressing the question, and then include a "here is my referal link if you would like to use it (insert non hidden referal link). That would be fine. Something to note, since it has been done before, if you create a thread with an alt account so that you can post your referal link, it is an immediate ban. Generally if someone posts a referal link, it is just removed as a warning. Showing that you are completely aware that its against the rules and then trying to evade the rule with alts shows that you have already been warned but don't care.

Most PTC sites have such a section and it may not be useful to the forum but to members it can be. It was my suggestion and one may agree to disagree.

This is a forum and is for discussion, not a PTC/PTW/etc... site.(no offence).

As I have said in my post, oy spambots can benefit from it. Members who manually posts barely gets traffics unless users go through all threads which is very unusual. It will be hard to moderate too. If it isn't moderated, chance for double posts are very high. There is nothing for forum and members to gain from it.

People who want to advertise their referral link should make a choice whether they need a paid sig in their signature or referral link. Their choice.

What kind of website's referral are you talking about? I think that the games and rounds section would be appropriate for most websites. You could start a topic dedicated to referrals specifically.

It's against forum rule to start a thread solely to advertise referral link.

I am surprised to see you agreed to this. You already saw BadBear's post in previous thread about referral link.

I missed this quote "If you pay people to register under your ref link it works on games and rounds, also sometimes when people find new promos or giveaways they give their ref link and a non ref link, seems to be allowed aswell." "Still referral spam."

I have seen Sr. members as well who do it and never thought that it wouldn't be allowed as they might not be aware of the rules then.

I don't want to see "Trashcan v3". There certainly won't be any use to it. Owners of spambots will only be the persons who gain from it. People who want to advertise their referral link should choose whether they need a paid sig in their signature or referral link. Their choice.

It is not allowed except in your signature and in the threads you created not solely for advertising.

Usually you can post the normal link then include a referral link in ( ) next to it with a note saying 'here is an optional ref link' or something.

I think that should be allowed.

No. It is still spam.

The same question i asked in this community few months earlier,

The Answer i got from many reputable member is that "You can use your ref link, but with ref link you will have to use non ref link." And i did the same in Gambling Section and Nothing Happened to my post.

Thanks

I don't know why people say this, but no it's not true. Spam is spam, doesn't matter if you add a non ref link. Welsh's post is correct.

You are allowed to put your refferal link on your signature
So, when you make promotion, ask users to join through refferal link on your signature
And you might want to use link shortener, so every user can't know the refferal link

Any you should know it already when you join this forum

Still referral spam.

If you pay people to register under your ref link it works on games and rounds, also sometimes when people find new promos or giveaways they give their ref link and a non ref link, seems to be allowed aswell.

Still referral spam.

I thought of suggesting a section may be like "Advertise Here" which could allow one to post referral links or exchange referrals (it it could be allowed).

Now it seems you can add a referral link only in the signature

True but you can also add referral link in some posts.

or as marco has stated.
