If you take 1.0 BTC when its worth $80, is it proper to pay back 1.0btc, or $80?

i'm not trying to slag OP at all. i'm just wondering what happens when someone steals bitcoin, and then pays it back at a later date.

Don't steal from people and you will avoid these sorts of complications.
that doesn't answer the question, though.

i've seen a few threads where people have paid back the old USD equivalent, rather than the BTC.  but it's interesting that there still is no consensus (but lively discussion) on the issue of repayment even within the cryptocoin community.

If you stole 1BTC then you owe 1BTC, unless you did a deal where you would pay a fixed amount in cash back etc.

Not necessarily.

What do you mean?

I did that in the past, i scammed 2 btcs, but someone was selling btcs for usd and i bought two of them for 220 usd, but scammed him, techically i stealed 220 usd not 2 btcs.. so in this case the correct would be to return the 220 usd not the btcs right?

Bcause i did that in the past, and i thing i did the correct thing, because he wouldt have held the btcs i stealed from him, he wanted to sell them, if i havent bought them, someone else have bought.

No, you stole 2 BTC, you owe 2 btc... BTC isn't USD.. If I steal your $50,000 car and wait for its value to drop to $2000 and buy you another.. did I make up for it?

Good man. It takes courage to come back after you've ripped people off and repay the stolen money.

Was told to post here by grue since I've paid everyone I owed back. I've refunded around $800 total and stopped gambling since it always ends to me losing everything. You can PM the people to confirm but they have posted on my thread for proof. Thanks.
If you are for real you deserve respect.
