NATO turned down his request. Their reason was that imposing a no fly zone would need enforcement by the military which might even include shooting down Russian planes. US and NATO further argued that this would lead to direct military confrontation with Russia which could incite extensive war in Europe with nuclear-armed Russia.

For their refusal to accept his request, Ukraine’s President said NATO is weak and disunited. Zelensky warned NATO that any Ukrainian that die from now on, died because they refused to assist his nation.

NATO is not weak. They are just cautious. Putin has lost his mind. It would be disastrous to be mad at an angry man. A proverb in my tribe states that “If a mad man takes your towel while you are bathing and you pursue him naked, people will assume that both of you are mad. If NATO is not careful, World War III would begin.

Yes. Big wars tend to start as small wars that get out of hand. It's a difficult balancing act for the west, they need to help Ukraine as much as possible without this being too overt. The two options for this ending well are probably either a) give Putin a way out where he can retain some dignity and maybe somehow be able to frame it domestically as a victory, or b) destabilise Putin's support sufficiently for them to decide to "remove" him.

Sending NATO/US forces into Ukraine will not end well. But it's certainly understandable that Zelensky wants whatever help he can get.

United States are wise, they have refused to directly involve in this invasion, looking at how they have passed aircraft and ammunition through Japan that helped/support Ukraine shooting down some Russian aircraft yesterday. They have refused to directly involve with this because, direct support will be World war three, this doesn't mean they're weak, I don't agree with that statement that NATO are weak.

This shouldn't get more than this, I see he doesn't know the meaning of nuclear weapons, this will make houses and buildings melt only at a single launch.

Yeah, the nutcases pressing Biden to create a "no-fly zone" (ie. shoot down Russian planes, ie. start a war with Russia) are going to end up causing WWIII. They're making me dust off my nuclear-war preparedness plans, find my potassium iodide, etc.

BTW, it's a common misconception that global nuclear war would instantly kill everyone and be the end of the world. If you live more than 10-20km from a major city's center, you'll probably survive the initial blasts. Then if you know how to shelter from the fallout in a basement or something for at least a few days, you'll probably survive the radiation. And then if you don't give up, you and your community should be able to adapt to the climate changes caused by "nuclear winter". If you're not right in the middle of a big obvious target, then you're probably not going to be instantly vaporized, so I recommend making some basic preparations.

Glad someone said it (besides me years ago.)

Anyone who wants to survive can probably do so by hunkering down in a sewer for three weeks or so for the fast-decaying isotopes to dissipate.  Anything where there is a lot of overhead cover (like three feet of cement, dirt, whatever.)  Also, do what is possible to filter out the air you breath and don't go out to 'check' more often than is necessary because you just track shit back in.

I have enough potassium iodate for my entire small city, but that's back in the U.S. before I expatriated.  Speaking of, it's debatable whether adults would even benefit much from the substance, but growing kids are a different story.  If it ever comes to it, do prioritize kids for whatever iodine might be kicking around.  It's not any magic pill or whatever.  Just limits the amount of radioactive iodine which becomes part of one's body, and there will be a lot more pressing problems than that anyway.

That's just my advice for people who didn't get around to looking into things before it became impossible to do.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky pleaded with NATO and US to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine. A no-fly zone which was used during NATO's invasion of Iraq and Libya entails an area where unauthorized commercial or military aircraft are banned from flying over a location to prevent military assaults. Russian is having an edge over Ukraine because of its more advanced military aircrafts used for bombardment.

But NATO turned down his request. Their reason was that imposing a no fly zone would need enforcement by the military which might even include shooting down Russian planes. But NATO can empower Ukraine to implement the no fly zone. Give Ukraine all the military hardware needed to bring aircrafts down. Hire and sponsor more experienced mercenaries that can operate Stinger surface-to-air missiles, shoulder-launched rockets, air defense rockets, etc. NATO and US should enforce the no fly zone through the Ukrainian Armed Force.
