Only the coins purchased directly through the crowdsale (eos.io) website will need to be registered.
If you purchase it on an exchange and transferred it from one exchange to another, you needn't register it.

Do you have a source for this? As far as I know all EOS tokens have to be registered.
I think the EOS site is not that user-friendly for this matter.

I really need help with my last question. How can I know if the eos tokens I buy on exchanges are not unregistered eos tokens from the ICO? So confused!
I don't think you can that's why you have to register i.m.o.

Thank you for this post. It is really luck that I found it. Due that I have some EOS ERC-20 Tokens which were bought last october on EOS ICO round. I will investigate this topic more detailed.
hey, I am welcome that you found out with this post. I think a lot of people are unaware of this that they will have to register their eos tokens.

If you need to register it, you can do it easily from myetherwallet by following this guide

By the way, what if someone bought it on eos.io and then sold it on exchanges? How can I know where my eos tokens were originally bought?

Hey peeps!
Is it true that you need to register EOS tokens before 1st June?
And if I buy on Binance will I still have to register them or will they swap them automatically like with Qtum?

If I need to register them, how do I do that?
