How exactly would anonymous cryptos be regulated though? Can someone explain?

it can't. as the term implies, it's anonymous. The feature of these cryptos are privacy on both end of the sender and the receiver, and the amount transaction. Some anonymous coins have selective disclosure feature, though, for autditing purposes, but again, it is still "selective".

I think good and fair regulation could help to make more stable growth. And it would grow because world needs lots of money. And keep money launders out.

Do you think that the ongoing discussion about cryptocurrency regulation will lead to the rise of truely annonymous cryptos such as DeepOnion or Verge?

Probably I am mistaken, but I think that this legalization and regulation will never lead to the anonymity. The operations and transactions will not become safer, and the taxes will be taken. Not sure it will work anyway, it is difficult to be done.

As long as these coins are claiming to be the real anonymous coin which still uses the centralized exchange site, then you must not expect a lot from there.
Where are from you saying they are all genuinely anonymous?
The regulation will try to aim a natural part of crypto which already called centralized exchange site. It's not directly pointing at the cryptocurrency itself.

I think that the realization that BTC and ETH aren't as anonymous as people think is what will actually lead to the rise of truly anonymous currencies. People looking for anonymity were using BTC in the past mostly because of its obscurity rather than actual anonymity. Now that that has changed, currencies that actually provide this will become popular.
