Lots of people seem to be misunderstanding what true religion is. James 1:27 in the Bible says: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Killing people in the name of religion might be the religion of some evil people, but it isn't a religion that God respects. In fact, he condemns such religions.

Religion is one to the things that is causing problem in world and I think we all have to do something about it especially for the religious people that like causing violence. Violence is not the way. Many of the Muslims terrorists believed if they died for Islam, the would receive 12 virgins when they are gone to Paradise. I think this should not be the way. We need to educate people on how to stay peaceful and live for peace. The government has to do something about this.

One of the things that causes religious conflict are the major roles some of the religious leaders perform in making their followers believe on what is wrong and take that for culture and tradition, this is what we called bad orientation or being brainwashed, this is what they believed from what their leaders taught them, they never have to rethink about it before taking justice to their own hands, we need to learn how to leave at peace with all men.

Not sure what the government of any country could do about it, without being called out for violation of the religious freedoms of the people of such country. I don't believe violence is something completely dependant on the religious one belongs to, but rather what the priests and the religious authorities say to their followers an how that affects them, dealing to a process of radicalization. It is more common in Islam, because the teaching of Muhammed are more inclined to hostility than the teachings of Jesus Christ, still one can see Christian Sects which encourage their followers do commit atrocities, one only needs to take a look at the history of the Wacco seize in Texas/USA.

Govenments could then try to look over and lay attention to sects and churches which use violent rethoric during their gatherings.

Is the Islamic State even a thing nowadays yet?
The last thing I knew about them, it was they were crushed in the middle east by the United States and its allies.
I know they have got some operating cells somewhere in the northern Nigeria though, I would have not expected them to reappear and carry out such disgusting act of violence.

Also, I thought there were USA military bases in the Philippines, there are not? Maybe it would be a good time for the government of the Philippines to ask for help of the United States to neutralize the leftover terrorist cells in the Pacific...

ISIS infiltered all around the world so it is not really possible to remove them completely, and about this boming, the news blog is just short and no information at all so what was this all about?

They attacked a church because of any violence against Muslims in that region?

We should be able to understand the need for religious tolerance, this is one of the reasons why you could found out that things like this as minor as it could be can turn to a war reason for having a religious crisis when the people are not tolerating each other in the society they live, also the government have their own role they should play in making sure that there's unity among the people irrespective of their religious background.

This is a very sad development, I sympathize with the families of the victims of this crime. Terrorists are unleashing their terrors on innocent people in the name of religion. I have Muslim friends and all of them do not support the activities of these terrorists, who commit these barbaric crimes in the name of Islam. The fight against terrorism is a global concern, so every nation needs to show concern and offer assistance to nations that these wicked humans are terrorising. I believe that the sponsors of these terrorisms have hidden agendas, they're just using religion to cover up their real intentions. Let the whole world rise up to these responsibility to crush these terror enemies.

terrorist groups in the Philippines have pledged allegiance to the ISIS years ago in fact in the very same place the recent attack happened, Marawi, is also where the longest armed conflict in Philippine history took place it has been almost seven years since then and once again they are resurfacing

Sorry for the loss. Saw that yesterday or so and I took some time to research about Philippines and discovered they are mostly Catholics. And I wondered why the attacker would dare to attack in a mostly Christian country. I think it could be persecution or they were attacked for doing wrong.

Anyways, True Religion or the Word of the CREATOR of the Universe needs to be diligently followed by Christains to be shielded from such attack. It's hard to successfully attack people who are properly following a good law or good constitution. Such attacks happen via loopholes which are created when the law isn't diligently followed.
But there are certain attacks on True Christians that are possible especially when they are in the domain of the enemy spreading the Goodnews. It's like soldiers getting attacked on foreign lands while trying to turn the inhabitants away from evil culture. This occasionally happens to Christain spreading the Word of the CREATOR in the World and we call it persecution.  Better to be attacked for doing right than for doing wrong.

A bunch of Kafirs were killed and score more injured in Philippines. They were allegedly punished by the Islamic state organization that aims to create a worldwide Islamic khilafah.
Such incidents are on a rise in south east Asia as the religious difference rises. People should embrace it if they can't avoid it.
