Yeah I came up with sort of the same idea http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/him0f/bitcoin_debit_co/

What do you think?

BTW This (http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/hnbfe/bitcard_follow_up/) and this (http://www.reddit.com/r/learnprogramming/comments/hnrq2/programing_project/) is a related post on Reddit.

EDIT: I get this a lot: DO NOT ASSOCIATE QR CODES IN THIS IDEA WITH PRIVATE BITCOIN KEYS. I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. THIS IS NOT BITBILLS.

sure, any label printing program like the ones used in retail stores can.  the operator inputs regular characters and the software converts it to the skinny bar/fat bar sequence.  there are actually several "languages" and most scanners read the top 4 or 5 languages.

Can the address be translated into a bar code by some converter?

Something like that will be necessary for full integration sometime down the road.  But right now with the volatility of the market, it would be quite tricky.  I do think the first step for POS type transactions would be a card with your wallet address on it in the form of  a bar code so the merchant could just scan the very long number.  Still, I think in person commerce is a way down the road for this currency.

Does anyone know if there is a card kind of solution out there that offers BitCoin loading? Preferably on the fly more or less.....
