Yes, like Philip says, a 240v line is almost a must for any kind of serious mining. If you have space and enough circuits free that you can spread rigs all around your house, then you can make do pretty well with 120v, but for any kind of concentrated, high density mining in one location 240v is vastly better.
Just unplug your dryer, use that 240v 30 Amp line (a fairly common dryer outlet in the USA) for mining and tell your wife you just use a clothesline for drying clothes in the summer months.
You might sleep in the doghouse the rest of your year, but you'll have that sweet 240v 30 amp line to mine with. lol

If you can put in a 240 volt
L6 30r. Wall outlet using 10 gauge
If will run a 24/30 amp pdu.
If you have an 8 outlet pdu.
You can run 8 three card 1080 ti rigs.
Using eight. 850 watt rosewill quark psu's
You can do up to 700 watts a rig
Total of 5600 watts. And be under the rated number of 7200 watts by more then 20 percent.
Way better to do a 240 volt circuit.

Practically the same reason I'm using 3x4mm2 (~6 AWG) cables per 16A breaker for mining rigs. Ain't no kill like overkill.

Been mining away, happy as can be.... only to find a very warm outlet where nothing had been plugged into (in the next room).
"Hmmmm, what's this?" I say.
Turn off the breakers and pull it apart.... deformed plastic and a burnt neutral wire. That's weird. So I run to Lowes and replace the outlet.
Start up the miners again, and wouldn't you know it.... three slightly warm outlets in the next room (same 15amp circuit).
None of the unused outlets in my office are warm (same circuit).
"Wut?"... I've never tripped the breaker, and only using around 1200watts on this rig (on this circuit). I guess spreading rigs across circuits just isn't enough.
After talking with an electrician, I learned that heavy computer loads put strain on the neutral cable.
Time to install larger circuits with thicker wires. What a pain....
So before you burn your house down, check all your outlets on any circuit your miners sit on. The return wire could be struggling even if you're careful about the wattage you're using.
