hey,may I know why did they freeze the account?

hey,may I know why did they freeze the account?

New accounts are 'frozen' by default (Not quite frozen, you can trade but can't withdraw.)

You need to apply (with ID) to have accounts unfrozen.

Its not a new account. Its more than 1 year old.

That's not what I meant when I used the word 'new',  I was using it to mean 'when an account is created'.

Is the amount in the account expected to change for some reason?
Why is it a gamble?

No it won't change. If you don't understand what's going on, please don't post here.

My understanding is again accurate now that you have corrected your "gamble" comment.

If your  funds are froze then why would anyone want your account, doesn't make sense.

Reading comprehension is fun! The account is frozen until someone verifies with documents. Get it?

I would prefer the forum not support this type of activity.

You may want to add some details privately to your buyer when you find it as far as any trading history on that account.  The buyer may be assuming some tax liabilities unknowingly if they do verify the account.

so you want to pass some one credentials for an MTgox account, so they can change the name and info on the account and apply to MTgox to take a hold off the account?

you think MTgox is going to actually unlock this account? are you kidding, I can here mtgox support now, so whos email is XXX and why do you want to change your name?

ohh I ahh forgot my name signing up, and now I want to verify my account with a new name email address and info.

that's going to go well

I think Id be more likely that all this would do is get my current account locked as well...

The problem you may run into selling this is that the buyer assumes huge risk even with escrow. For example, without credentials how can one check the balance until the transaction is complete? It could be an empty account.
And if the buyer were scammed, who would help? Mt.Gox..? No, you violated their TOS. The police..? LOL, Right Cheesy

I'm not accusing you of anything, but it is buyer beware when dealing with BTC.

Yes, this is my first post, and this 'looks legit'. I'm hiding my real identity because its probably against GOX TOS to sell accounts.

But they screwed me over so here I am. Price is 15% off, contains less than $1500 USD. I won't say the exact amount publicly. The account has extra security enabled - you can know its not compromised. We have to do escrow otherwise this can't work. Naturally we'll have to agree on an escrow agent.

I would recommend JohnK whenever do you decide upon an escrow agent. However, since you are new, I would probably wait a little while before you try to sell something like that because it looks kinda scammy (no offense)

GOX freezes BTC withdrawals if you're not verified and your account is automatically flagged for review. It cannot be unfrozen until account is verified. I'd rather not verify.

Sure its escrow-able. Buyer simply doesn't authorize release of escrow until he's moved the coin out of the account. If we can both see the account is empty, we know he's moved it. (I can prove that the account is frozen pending verification). He can give me view only access while adding OTP restriction to withdrawals.  Or perhaps using teamviewer.

EDIT: improved offer to 15% off.

Sounds like a scam, you will be able to see the verified account and use it for your own purposes.

Why not buy Bitcoins and sell them at another exchange? Would probably be similar to 10% off, but without the hassle of going against TOS and finding a buyer that trusts you (I'm not sure if that trade is easily escrowable).
