If someone does offer a loan it WILL be paid back in full even if I get burned. Unfortunately there are no guarantees in selling/purchasing here. A good idea would be for the lender to act as the escrow to reduce the possibility of anyone getting screwed.

But you're not guaranteeing that by giving him a loan are you? He should still pay you back anyway.
No, but I thought I would ask the question. I know of someone else that was looking at those 5850 cards as well.

I've never asked for a loan but there's some 5850's here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wts-sapphire-radeon-hd-5850-xtreme-64012 and I want to get two. I have 20 BTC leaving me 35 BTC short, this is where I need a loan.
I have tax refund money coming to me any day now and I get paid friday so I can pay back the loan within 1 week (or however long it takes for funds to go from bank to dwolla/mt gox)
I will be able to repay in BTC, Dwolla, or Mt Gox (whichever is preferred)
