- delay in receiving verification code on you mobile number

Solution to it

- Just use the google authentication app.
I am a day late to this thread, but I feel my input will still be helpful to someone, as I use Kucoin often.

If there is a delay in receiving a verification code to your mobile number, it may also be a result of a problem with your service provider. Sometimes service providers like MTN delay in sending verification code. I use MTN and encountered the same challenges before I started my emails instead for receiving verification codes, and I have not had any problems since.

The Google Authenticator app provides an extra layer of security for me.

So on my Kucoin, before a transaction will be sent, I have to input my trading password, the OTP sent to my mail, and the OTP from my authenticator app.

This issue has been a regular issue with KuCoin exchange back then, because there was a certain time where the exchange is not sending verification code for its users especially if you wants to log in to your account.

The problem I am encountering is the log in, whenever I wanted logging in, I do have problem with their captcha which I do just leave for a while sometimes days before accessing my exchange; if I lost patience sometimes, I used the KuCoin web for my transactions.

For your issue, I think if you use google Authenticator it will be better, you don’t need SMS to login or do any transaction and your exchange security will be more stronger.

Hyphen, you are indeed familiar with Kucoin's problems. The app must have shown you shege. And thank you for your suggesstion because that was what I used. Not like I had an option though.

I'll like to hear from you what your happened again after the 24hrs waiting elapsed.
Bro, after 24hours, I excitedly logged in to my account only and attempted to make a withdrawal again only to be told that I need to activate at least two security measures before I could proceed with my withdrawal and there was no option to skip it. The options they gave me was the authenticator. Left with no other option, I followed their guide and added Kucoin to Google authenticator app.

So for anyone who will intend to use kucoin in the future note that these are some of the issues you will encounter:

- captcha not loading
- delay in receiving verification code on you mobile number

Solution to it

- Just use the google authentication app.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? What did you do?
I haven't encountered such an issue using any of the exchanges available because I prefer and patronize Bybit and Binance and have recently learnt to use an authenticator authentication code to login after inputting my password. I can understand that it is due to having a good security backing that made you bind your number and allow certain security protocols before accessing your coins, but am sure that the network or perhaps the exchange is undergoing some form of maintenance for it to malfunction this way.
Please do exercise some patience and try to make your login access as simple as possible because it would confuse others like hackers and scammers if they think you use a very strict password protocol to login.

This is a norm to Kucoin regular users, they don't send you verification code once but you need to try it twice before you will receive it. I believe that is another way in which they want to see if you are the real owner of the account or something but I don't know why it is like that.

Whenever, I am using Kucoin, I wait patiently until I get the right verification code. However, your own case is far beyond normal and just as the first poster said, it must be that your network was bad and that is why you don't get the code after the first try.

I haven't used Kucoin wallet for exchange transaction but I think this scenario would be of two error issues which is either your mobile network error or you inputted the wrong password which after the process would be followed by the two factor of authorization which you activated using your tele communication mobile network to process your transactions.

So due to the fact you tried it multiple times hoping for the authentication text to come to your phones the wallet network sensed the transaction to be all suspicious and so they had to revalidate your accounts securities which would take such time of 24 hrs.

I expect them to make available an alternative ,means for the verification process, if they wanted to authenticate, it takes some time to receive the code sent from these exchanges, most especially when you're making authentication through the phone number, i rather make use of the google authenticator app or email for any verification process, which i expect them to give an alternative means to that aside from phone number.

I encountered an issue yesterday with a particular exchange that sends a verification code to my mobile number before withdrawal. I wanted to withdraw some funds from Kucoin, and due to my security settings, I had to first enter my trading password and then, hit the "send verification code" button, which is supposed to send a code to my mobile number. However, after hitting the button the first time, I didn't receive any code until the counter ran out. I repeated the same process about three times until I received a notification that I had exhausted the number of attempts and needed to try again in two hours. Frustrated, I left it and went to bed.

This morning, I encountered the same issue. I had to go to my profile and unbind the mobile number from the app. Now, I have to wait 24 hours to attempt the transaction again.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? What did you do?
E dey very frustrating but as that verification process no dey work why not go back to setting and change the trading verification pattern? From kucoin settings, you go fit change the trading verification pattern from phone number verification to email verification or Google authenticator pattern. That Google authenticator pattern dey more easier but if you no add Google authenticator verification pattern to your kucoin then just change the process from phone number verification to Gmail verification. With that you go fit withdraw any amount from your kucoin to anywhere. E done happen to me before sha, and this same thing I tell you nai me self do for my own fo work. But now I no dey use kucoin again because since wen some of their p2p merchants been dey cheat pipo with their price rate nai I stop to use am. This link below go explain the reasons why I stop to use KUCOIN exchange.

Sorry for encountering such frustration, at times these exchanges can be so weird, other times the delay, it could also  caused by our network provider.

That been said, after unbinding your mobile number did you replaced it with a different mobile number again for the reception of verification codes? If yes, then it just might happen that you may encounter same experience, however, I just hope you don't. What you should do is to request to use a working G-mail address in reception of verification codes it's even faster and safer for you that way than using mobile number except a case where you're using 2FA that also demands for a mobile number to be added.

I'll like to hear from you what your happened again after the 24hrs waiting elapsed.

Yes i can relate, kucoin is the major culprit when it comes to that, that's is why I prefer most verification should be done through mail, because that's almost like automatic message sent to your mail, but the phone number, by the time you eventually get the verification code, it has timed out, and it will continually be repeating the same time out code and it can be very frustrating.
I encountered same too with Binance when I was completing my two factor verification method, I received the first mail and I entered the code sent, I waited for the code to be sent on the phone number to complete the verification process , Omo I wait so tey i begin lose weight.

This is something natural with kucoin exchanged because most times their network could be very bad to trigger the SMS messages to your phone, instead of using SMS I always encourage people to use email and 2fa authentication to always processed their transaction because sometimes our service providers behave in a way that network would go off from your phone, before the SMS would reflect it may takes some minutes or bit longer than the exchange counter. Sometimes what gets me angry is that when you repeatedly try it over time your account could be restricted and found as unauthorized users trying to gained access to your account especially when you have funds inside your exchange account and before you may finally do transfer it will take 24hrs to 48hrs. The reason why they are doing that is to safeguard your account from hackers or unauthorized personal gaining full access to your fund while trying to bridge the security.

I think Kucoin is used to giving such issues ..
I remembered last two months or three when I needed to open an account I encountered alot of issues which made me lose interest towards opening my account then because of their verifications, sometimes the verification won't even load at all..

Although, i didn't get to use 2FA (two facto-authentication)just as it has been mentioned  but settin a 2FA should be good not only to speed your transaction proceess or any verification  process but it will also add an additional  security to your wallet

Yes, it's actually true that this kind of issues always arise when dealing with kucoin because I have experience such before when using kucoin, before they disabled their p2p services, I believe that it's not from the network you are using, it's mainly from kucoin, because since I started using bybit, I haven't experienced such issues, so I don't think it's from the network.

And another thing is that, since binance left the Nigerian market, we all have experience one or two shitty behavior from one exchange or the other, so I will suggest that In as much as we are looking for an exchange that is still operating p2p, we should be very careful and cautious with most of these exchange, because most of them are just rubbish, you will see an exchange setting their minimum deposit at 31usd, because they know that most people will fall victim of it, so we should just be careful with when dealing with these exchange.

I have encountered a similar issue several times on Kucoin. The problem is with our network provider I guess sometimes they are always unable to deliver the code on time until it has already expired before they will send it.

Just as they sent it to you twice, most times it will come based on the number of requests that you have made, and all might not even work as you won't be able to separate which one came is the recent one.

The best thing to do is to just add an email and Google authentication code as a means of security for withdrawals so that you won't face that challenge again. Because the problem always occurs once in a while, since I disable SMS, verification for withdrawal, and only use my email and 2FA I can't remember the last time I encountered such an issue..
