We may get reporting badges at some point, but the main motivation should be making Bitcoin discussion and collaboration on Bitcoin projects easier and more enjoyable for all of us.

Why would they(high amount of accuracy in reporting) create a thread for those reported topic? It doesnt add up value while you can always do simple reporting. I think moderators doesnt really favor any member in terms of dealing with reported post. As long as a user reported it hence or whoever posted it will be taken care of.

One could say raise awareness. On the other hand, a self-pat-on-the-back?

I won't name it, but there's one on this sub itself.

I would say the members with high level of report to mod accuracy don't often make a thread about it because it's something like a good habit.

But these threads can always be overlooked. But for how long?
About duration, Im thinking moderators do it regularly to attend every reported post. Of course this a huge forum and sometime they overlooked it of course they also have real life thing to do as well. Like @suchmoon says, dont overthink of it and just do whatever you need to do.

You're overthinking it. How is creating a thread about people creating threads about reporting going to help here? Smiley

Just do what you think is right... no need to worry what others do if it doesn't really affect you in any way. There are some cases where threads might be needed (e.g. to provide more context), there are some useless ones. Easy to ignore.

My point though is if the unnecessary thread about it can reduce a bit.

report to moderator should be a selfless action, but this is not so to some forum members,
let's take for example countless of time has this activities happened, a forum user beholds something that is not in place and they noticed it's not supposed to be that way, may or maynot  use the report to mods option and even if they used it, they still bring it up and form threads about it here on meta.
these are few reasons why this act are carried out
+ want their did to be noticed: some forum users might see using the report to the mod option as an act that will just be hidden
+ incentive hunger:  wants reward for busting or intercepting a wrong thread, this incentives can be in form of praises that makes them happy to know others sees them a forum police.

report to moderator has an accuracy rating and if your accuracy rating is high that can be satisfying, you don't always get rewarded by calling the cops to an accident or robbery this are services you render selflessly.
Report to the mod is a selfless service and making further thread about a matter you can just report can just be a spam
