Is this true? This means that there are a lot of useless reports if accuracy is this low across the board. And how would shorena know these statistics?

Because I read a lot Wink

No, I just posted the link where they can be found, see my edit in the 2nd post in this thread.

I also know there are ~150 reports daily and theymos wrote any rating over 25% is fine.

Mine is currently 100% with 24 reports  Tongue. I don't see that many things to tattle on, unless it's worth it.

I'm not sure why it is attributed to shorena, the original post is from theymos:

Here are some updated stats:

In all, there have been 27,689 good reports, 8129 bad reports, and 1067 unhandled reports.

I think that this is all pretty good! Any accuracy percentage above ~25% is probably fine.

Since we're on the topic, I'm currently at 81 with 99% accuracy. I'm guessing the average accuracy is so low because people report scams, which aren't actually against the rules.

Question: In what cases would staff report rather than self action?

Those labeled as "staff" can only act against newbies AFAIK. Thus they have to report like us mere mortals.

Not exactly. Staff are moderators who don't have a section or moderators who posted outside of their section. For example, in Meta, I'm displayed as staff, however, in the altcoin forums, you'd see my rank as moderator. Global moderators and admins are exempt from this as their rank is global.

I always have a look at the modlog/deletion log whenever I want to see if it was dealt with or not. Unless it's simply a moved topic or any other action which isn't broadcast on the modlog.

I was surprised to see myself with 99% accuracy yesterday on my 1142 reports. Then, I screw it up within a few hours and go back down to 98%. Smiley

While the topic is up and we are apparently in a good mood for a few seconds, any chance that posts like this[1] could become a regular thing?

Could be a nice feature, hopefully when the new forum in up and running, we will have greater access to a wide range of user stats.

* DiamondCardz logs onto DiamondCardzAlt and makes 1 report

(then has it marked bad and gets 0% accuracy)

I guess that helps. It'd be nice to see a list of all the reports you've made, though, as I don't know if I've just missed it or what.

marco: That's strange then. I definitely don't have a report count anywhere near what a mod would have, it's only 155. Which is why it seems strange that my accuracy barely budges.

Perhaps you report one good then one bad post often, keeping your accuracy somewhat constant haha. Don't worry about accuracy too much.

That should see me shifting more towards 50%, though. Heh. Alright, I was just a tad curious. Don't make a massive number of reports as I really only report annoying things in Project Development.

That makes a bit of sense if it's rounded down then. I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Or accuracy could just be inaccurate, because it took ages for me to trickle up from 94% accuracy to 95% accuracy.

More reports you have, the larger the spread between individual percentage points.

Math. The more reports you have overall, the larger the spread between percentage points. If reports were rounded off to 100ths, like 96.57% you would see it going up more often. Also could be getting some bad reports occasionally, probably won't be enough to drop your percentage visibly at this point so you wouldn't know.

Also, when you report something, it will immediately be added to your number of reports, however it won't factor into your percentage until dealt with by a moderator, and never will if the report remains in limbo (it happens).

I'm not talking about the number of reports being stuck but the percentage.

So maybe is it an error? I'm stuck at   : You have reported 79 posts with 74% accuracy

I doubt it. As BadBear said percentages move quickly when you have few reports and barely noticable when you have >1000 reports. IIRC hilariousandco is at >1900 reports probably more now.

Lets assume 97.0000% of these are correct, thats 1843 correct and 57 not. In order to reach 97.5% (I assume thats when 98% will be shown) he would have to make 2223 total correct reports vs 57 bad. Thats 380 good reports without fail.

For 79 posts with ~74.6835% assumed accuracy (59 good, 20 bad) you only need 1 good report (60/(60+20) = 75%)

Lets assume 97.0000% of these are correct, thats 1843 correct and 57 not. In order to reach 97.5% (I assume thats when 98% will be shown) he would have to make 2223 total correct reports vs 57 bad. Thats 380 good reports without fail.

Accuracy is always rounded down IIRC, so it'll take even longer.

People shouldn't worry about accuracy much, and certainly not single percentage points.

Accuracy becomes harder to budge up or down with the more reports you make. If you've had 1,000 reports, an additional 1 successful report isn't going to adjust your accuracy up by much (less than a percent so you wouldn't see a difference). I don't think it's necessary for mods to show people their accepted/denied report counts.

IIRC the best we get is the modlog[1] and honestly with 95% you are probably over most of the mods. There used to be a list... let me find it.

Is there any chance we could see which reports are accepted and which are declined with moderators, if that's possible to implement? Not knowing which reports are being declined and which are being accepted is a little annoying. Or accuracy could just be inaccurate, because it took ages for me to trickle up from 94% accuracy to 95% accuracy.
