*looks to see he's up to 115 pages in PM inbox*

Does the forum have PM limits? I like the idea for personal privacy reasons and decreasing forum liability (since I'd be more likely to regularly prune if I had a local copy). However, wouldn't it interfere with this new forum requirement from the master list?

"It should be possible to produce a public link to a PM, publicly proving that the PM was sent."

Sounds like new forum will have to store its own individual set of all PMs ever exchanged (if it doesn't already), or maybe I misinterpret it.

I prefer Zakir over Muhammed when mentioning me!
Implementing it would help users. And also how about folders for messages? For some important messages, it can be categorized for easy referring and also an option for downloading a zip file for that particular folder?

Would save data for the website and allow users to reference old messages and PM's which they don't necessarily want on the website anymore.

And what's to stop me from referencing an old message that actually never existed?

I assume you mean quoting old messages.

The point of this feature would be to keep a backup of old messages in case you need to access what was said months later.
Sort of the same thing as deleting emails on a email server, but backing them up incase you need to see what received/sent back in the day.

Instead of pruning messages, I think an additional option should be given to download achievable messages and then delete such messages.
