OnTheMF,

I've been a hobbyist programmer since I was 13, that's 7 years now. I'm not that great a programmer, but I've dabbled in many areas including databases, web development, designing, and currently I work with iOS.

I'm still very new to the crypto-currency world, and I won't say anything too promising, but if you are able to get a team together I'd be interested in giving up some of my free time to work on something like this. I'd be able to help out with an iOS app, or possibly a web interface / backend. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

I'm looking for fellow developers who are interested in co-founding a unique new Bitcoin/crypto-currency service. This is a service that has not been done before with Bitcoin and one that has proven itself successful as a multi-billion dollar industry in fiat markets. Obviously this service would have its own twist to adapt it to Bitcoin. One of the things I am bringing to the table is exactly how to execute that "twist," since I believe most/all people probably think it's not possible.

A little about myself: I have been a developer for over 17 years. My background is in C and is the product of a misspent youth hacking on the Linux 2.2 kernel. If you've ever attended Defcon you may have met me. I'm somewhat anonymous but present in the security and reverse engineering world. Over the years I have worked on virtually every platform there is, from Windows to embedded PIC micro-controllers. For my day job I work in business development for a product development and engineering firm where I oversee several engineering task groups covering everything from industrial design to PCB layout.

The Project:
I'm going to be purposefully cryptic about the project itself and will not say more than it parallels existing businesses in billion-dollar fiat markets. Credible inquirers will be given more information over PM or Skype.

The positions I'm looking to fill include the following:
  • Web back-end developer - LAMP stack & jQuery (possibly 2 positions)
  • Front end designer - req. knowledge: jQuery & Smarty templates

I'll be handling the nuts & bolts, server infrastructure, project specification, and the system that makes this whole thing work (again, being intentionally cryptic). Ultimately the project will require more manpower than that, but probably not until later in development. I learned my lesson a long time ago about putting the cart ahead of the horse.

Hopefully that's enough information to wet your beak.

This was my first stop before the more traditional places because I wanted to find someone familiar with crypto currencies. If this doesn't pan out I'll head over to stack overflow.
