The government generated jobs report was released today. I'm so hopeful for a future without slavery to the debt dollar of those tyrants.

May your mind be relaxed sooner than you expect it too be. The future is indeed brighter than it has ever been brother.

Yes ooo the brightness of future is more than what it hold today one should not kill itself with temporary thing that could not even satisfied the body and give sound health it's better to work less with results than become elephant in work while eating as grasshopper.

I wish you well in your future prospects, OP.  Hopefully, you can find a job that has a safe environment to poster your growth and enhance your mental health.  Mental health is really important to consider in finding a job.  If you have poor mental health in your job, it will translate to poor performance, weak immune system leading to sick days, and many issues related to collaboration with your boss and colleagues.  Go for it, OP!

Most every job now has problems but if you got a good job from the job you left. Then you must have done something good or if your online income is more than your job income. Then it is better to leave your job because you work for money. And you are getting more money online here too. That is why it is better to give more importance to you here.

Nothing that I need to say because once you are not happy in your Job anymore and this
brings you mental issues then that is the indication to leave and go find new one because i have been an
employee for many years and I know where to stop working in something I am not enjoying.

Hoping that sooner you may find a Job that suits you , and a co  worker that will help you
and join you to work together for the company as team , because in every workplace we need to be bonded
with our office mates or else there will never be a second home for all of you.

My work place is like a school when we were young , this must be consider the second
safest and comfortable place aside from our Home.

With some relief, I have resigned from my day job with immediate effect. It had got to the stage where I felt undervalued and unwanted, and have felt the job was effecting my mental health.  Nevertheless, I will be looking for a new job as soon as I have sufficiently rested.
Life can be threatening at times especially when working under some firm when I was working under some firm in the name of work I really smelt hell .I Understand how it feels

Has anyone else here immediately resigned from their occupation?
Yes I have resigned from my occupation before due to poor management and how they treated me like a trash al because of work. You know how this rich folks behave, when eve they are in power they show muscle as if they have arrived.

but not everyone can do what you do. you know that adults like us are bound by responsibilities, whether to our families, our children, or ourselves, and those responsibilities are what make us do things we don't even want to do. because to some people, it is better to be stressed at work than the stress of facing the ridicule of other people who think that we are useless because we don't work and make money. and because of this, many people work under  pressure and stress and they remain resistant to this.

You know what, it's not bad to leave any time however giving them a notice period won't be a bad thing. But is there any crime to leave any time?? If yes, why the ingratitude!!

Isn't Illegal to resigned effectively ?

You may not get some funds left in the company with immediate resignations but there is no such thing called illegal to stop wroling if you don't like to work there.

It may affect negatively on the individual if the job nature is corporate based because every corporate company has some links so they may blackmark such profiles but I hope that is not the case with OP and he left in good terms.
actually it depends in the contract that you have signed when applying because some Bylaws have these in their terms like my previous Jobs though it cannot be called Illegal(sorry for the term i use) but is is mandatory to stay while your replacement is getting in what you are going to leave but yeah at some point it will effect your application to other company because you will be marked as abandoning your Job resigning instantly not giving them time to produce your replacements.

I am slightly depressed about the situation, but I know the future is brighter elsewhere.

I'm certain that you made the right decision; at the end of the day no company owns you and the freedom is yours over your life.
But the timing might be questionable. It's generally accepted that you should accumulate at least some savings for at least a few jobless months.
You could've avoided this stress by taking a bit more time to put aside money.

They cannot hold you forever nor you cannot stay there forever because your life your decision mate , you are not happy and you are also mentally problematic so you have done the best move here mate.
resignation do not mean it is the end of our career sometimes this is even the start of the new beginning .
praying for you to find a new job mate and hoping you will stay there longer.

It's basically your judgment, you are not being sacked by the company, you decided to leave so you can give yourself a bit notice period (time to last before finally leaving), while going about something else. Except that is not an option

Well, I hope you did resign having a backup plan.

If not - Then you surely had some moves to make.

Whatever the reasons if that's what it's then congrats and all the best .

Isn't Illegal to resigned effectively ? because there is a one month grace period for the company to find your replacement?
Nope, it's not illegal to resign effectively. Yes, there will be a time that you need to render for your succession but if you have a valid reason, you can even be allowed not to render it anymore.

I've been into two jobs before that I did resigned effectively, the other one I have to render two weeks for the new hire to be taught by me.

The other one is good as soon as I have filed my resignation letter and it's the actual immediate effect.

@OP, it's okay. If you're no longer happy with the job and it is affecting your mental state, that's a good decision.

Thanks for your comments. Yes it was affecting my mental health. It impacted on my ability to get things done outside work. There are other jobs I can easily work at, so I'm looking forward to the future.
Good luck with that.

I've been there and done that. It is important to think of our mental wellness. If there are better jobs that don't have a lot of workload, pay lesser and you can easily work with happily, I'd choose that to do other things that I like.

But it is a bonus if that pays more or the same with the former.

usual advice would be to apply for new jobs whilst still employed(oops too late, oh well). but if the old job was wrecking your health where you now need a break from all employment to recuperate then for healths sake seems you made the right decision
afterall no new employer will take you on if you then instantly ask for vacation time to recover from previous job

i myself resigned decades ago for similar reasons(multitude of reasons that piled up). and found stock trading filled my pockets, then just over a decade ago bitcoin. so essentially i retired young
i didnt plan on resigning, but something triggered and i had enough. i knew i could pivot to stock trading and live off the gains, as it was already earning me nice sidehustle income so money was not a constraint

have no regrets, dont pander to ex-bosses to return to the place that caused you stress. leave them in the past. dont think about them, they cant do anything to you anymore so dont waste another second beating self up about decisions related to them or previous experiences, memories, interactions with them. concentrate on the now and the future

as for now and future, if you dont have any side hustles. dont take too long out of employment
really use this week to sincerely chill, stay in bed do absolutely the minimum and really recharge. dont half-ass it by making your time-off busy where you dont recharge, or it takes longer to recharge
concentrate on getting health back on par asap by resting up properly. and then get them job applications going.

Isn't Illegal to resigned effectively ? because there is a one month grace period for the company to find your replacement? i did the same thing back in the years when i felt something like you but i was not allowed to completely resigned or else I will never get my benefits in which some good back pay so I need to stay 1 whole month training my replacement though i have already applied to different job and yeah being hired right after my last day. and indeed that Job last long not until Pandemic that we need to separate ways.

Consequently, money will be tight as I transition to new employment. I am slightly depressed about the situation, but I know the future is brighter elsewhere.
