Next time can you just make the little resin bitcoins themselves? I don't really care if they are numbered or not. Maybe sell them in small batches? (10?) I like the idea of having "real bitcoins" laying on my desk.

hey thanks!  Grin I'm sorry to say, none of the pieces pictured will be available for sale from me.. they're all "sold out" projects.  The one you mentioned was designed by the artist Huck Gee, and was the first in the series of "bootleg" edition toys I produced for him. Price wise, the last one to sell on ebay was a later version, it went for about $120 a week ago.

Ahh, i missed my chance then, Do you have a website or anywhere I could keep track of your projects, like these? So i dont' miss out next time

I'm also more than willing to use clearcoin or a similar service if you're nervous about actually getting this in the post.. but I promise you will!! I'll be shipping via USPS with delivery confirmation, and I'll pm tracking #'s once I've shipped out, (usually next day.) I've got loads of references on other boards, just let me know if you'd like some..

anyway, here are some more examples of my work:

each will be signed and numbered, once these are gone, they're gone for good!

Use this technology to put something really cool on your desk, and support an enterprising artist Grin

and thanks again for looking!!

After you sell off the bitcoins, well you be selling some of these.. ninja's? not sure what to call them, but the one on the far right looks awesome imo.  Great work!

ahh, the reverse sale #1 auction idea is genius!! I've always been better at production than marketing haha! Anyway, I'll snap some pics as I put one together to show the "made by hand" action and post em up Wink

huge thanks for the support BTW!!  Grin

It would be very interesting to see and I could write a little featurette on BTCNN.com if you're interested. Maybe it'll help promote some of your other pieces?

BTW: You should have made the lot, then sold them in reverse and auctioned the #1 print. Just some food for thought for the next limited run collection you do!

Thanks, I guess that makes 7 remaining then   Cheesy

I'd say each takes between an hour and a half to two hours, & there are several steps in the fabrication process.. first step was the wax sculpt, then I made the mold, then cast the coin, then embedded it in the clear resin (2 stage pour,) then sanded and polished it.. yeah, probably about 2 hours Wink I can post progress pics if anyone's interested haha

& thanks again!!

8 left!

it's been pointed out to me that many folks have funds tied up in the Mt.Gox situation right now, so I've decided I'm willing to take paypal payments from those who would prefer to deal in dollars or would like the added security paypal has to offer.  The going rate will be whatever tradehill has posted at the time of sale, so it's best to buy while the market is soft!!  Grin

Hey all, I'm an artist/nerd who's been bitten by the bitcoin bug.  I've made many toys and collectibles, several of which have actually increased in value exponentially Grin  In an attempt to describe the idea of this technology, I've made some actual bitcoins to represent something tangible.  Figured I'd show my wares here..

These are cast in opaque resin, and suspended in clear resin..  Limited edition of 10,  individually signed and numbered.

cost is 1BTC, including shipping in the US.  Lemme know if you're "international" and I'll figure something out...

thanks for looking!! Cheesy
