Profile > under Modify Profile > Ignore Boards Preferences > check boards you don't want to see > click change profile

Beautiful, this is what I needed, blocked the whole local section, altcoins as I don't plan to buy one in near future and the Ponzi one.
Checked the "Show unread ..." and it cleared up a lot of clutter.
