First off I'd like to thank everyone that participated in the contest for putting your energy and effort into making Backed an awesome place. We had some pretty awesome submissions, from the clever, to the funny.

Because some of the submissions were so awesome we decided to expand the winners circle a little bit, naming a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as several honorable mentions. The first place winner's slogan is what we'll adopt, but the others will also be getting tipped some bitcoin! So without further ado, here are the results from the Develop A Slogan For Backed contest.

I know you can't make up your own nickname, that's just not how it works. However, it would be awesome to hear Backed occasionally referenced as The Bacon Of News. Can you imagine...

Alright, so that might be a bit of a stretch, but it's still pretty awesome. For their submission kingelijah will receive .05 bitcoin.

Best Video Game Reference
I'm not gonna lie, I still love video games, and our winner for this category made reference to a classic franchise.

This slogan made reference to something we hope to aspire to here at Backed, a certain egalitarian quality that helps to form a better type of online community. For their submission Small will be rewarded with .05 bitcoin.

Second Place

If you were to sum up what this site is in one sentence, I think this one would be it. It was very close between this one and our winner, I even called in some outside help for a second opinion. For their submission mlucas will be awarded 0.10 bitcoin.

First Place and your new Backed slogan
"Powered By You. Backed By Bitcoin." - Bitcoin Mafia


Its simple and clear yet manages to get across the purpose and feeling of Backed. "Powered By You. Backed By Bitcoin." will appear on the site starting with the next update. Your Develop A Slogan contest winner and this weeks reigning contest champion is none other than Bitcoin Mafia! For the winning submission Bitcoin Mafia will receive the 0.25 Bitcoin purse.
